Reminds me of the 8bitdo Zero2. I used that controller for my phone at work for a time. Handy to throw in a zipper pocket. If I still used it frequently, the colors would probably sell me on this (that blue/teal one looks dope)

As for me, I have the 8bitdo zero2 (very similar to these), and paired with an android phone/tablet with emulators installed, these are convenient for traveling. Great for a quick gaming session on a plane ride, with out whipping out a full sized controller. Just my opinion.

I'm the same. I just use an 8bitdo N30 pro. Since it fits in the pockets. But I have been looking for something a tad smaller and cheaper that I don't mind if it gets torn up by my keys.

Now that iOS has emulators it could be handy just to have in your bag and not taking up space. Same thing if you are staying the night somewhere and bring a steam deck with a couple compact controllers in case you want to do some multiplayer, but they do have the bigger ones with the hall sticks that look pretty compact but bigger. These tiny ones would fit in the little cubby in the steam deck case.

At least the price is right! There actually is a use for small controllers like this - I have an 8bitdo Lite controller (the one where the analog sticks are D-pads) and it is my regular Balatro controller, as well as a spare controller I take when I travel. Seeing these, I thought, oh, maybe I'll get the one with the Super Famicom style colored buttons. Then I saw how small they actually were. I think they flew too close to the sun in terms of how small to make them. You really don't want anything smaller than an NES pad, which is also the size of that 8bitdo Lite pad and their TG16 pad.

This is actually useful to me. Had the 8bitdo zero 2 and misplaced it. It only came in 2 colors and I didn’t want to buy the exact same controller. Will check this out. This controller paired with xreal glasses and a iPhone running retro arch is gonna be like living in the future. 👾

I could see myself taking this with me on a lunch break at work to play some SNES games or Genesis games on a emulator on my phone. At this little size I could fit it in my pocket with the other various things I keep in them. Just a neat little controller I could have at all times for things like that. If it's switch compatible then maybe I bump into someone with a Switch out and about playing something 2D like Smash Bros. and bam I could play with this controller since it's in my pocket. I don't know it's pretty cool to me. Not something I would use at home over a pro controller but it's pretty neat for something to just keep in your pocket.

*@Madlittlepixel* Heads up on a topic for a future video. Remember how a company last year was making a new licensed (no bootleg or hack) official NES platformer based on the old 90s Rugrats show? Well, it was getting a physical release for real hardware from Limited Run games (complete with collectors edition) - and then developers revealed that untop of that NES version, both a physical and digital release was coming to PS3/5, Xbox, PC and Switch. They then released a demo on steam, where it was revealed that the non-NES releases would come with both the NES graphics/sound PLUS (with a tap of a button in-game) it would switch to modern graphics and sound (sorta like Wonderboy Dragons Trap or Alex Kid Remake). Now it seems the game will be releasing digitally at least early, Tomorrow (Sept 10th)! But the cool thing is, and this is the point of this comment/tip, is that it seems they made a deal with Epic to release the Rugrats: Adventures in Gameland (complete with built-in NES version) FREE on the Epic Store from Sept 12th - Sept 19th. So people should pick it up! I played the demo and it was pretty dope. I feel like people should know about this! 👍

I looked at this but then got a steam deck. I think $500 is a lot for android handheld. The GPD mini 2024 PC is fire also but like $1000+. Anything over $500 should run PC games.

It looks to me like they're selling a $10 controller for $20. Not worth it in my opinion. If you want a pocketable controller, you'd be better off with the 8BitDo Lite. I have one of those and it actually feels pretty nice in my hands. And it's functional enough that I've even done well in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe with it. There's also the 8BitDo Lite 2 if you want a fully featured small controller, but that one is less pocketable due to the analog sticks and trigger buttons.

I don't think I like this company, they seem to make controllers not to make a quality product that's comfortable to use but to make collectibles they can exploit people's collecting bug for. I mean all third party controller manufacturers do that at least a little bit, but this company in particular is very blatant about it, most of their products look like they'll give you carpal tunnel, but you gotta have them all cause look how cool they look, and you keep track of how many of these controllers you're never going to use for more than an hour you have in their handy dandy app. Like, they're controllers not trading cards, yes I want them to look cool but I also want them to feel nice when playing a game.
