hello, warlock class/bombardier class developer here! yeah, bombardier class was sort of... literally my first mod yeah i want to rework bombardier class (like entirely) but tbh not a big fan of trying to work through the code i made from like, a year ago fortunately i'm working on a bigger project so i can just rework bombardier there (and use like, none of the original weapons since most of them sucked) it's gonna be a while until i finish my mod (i've been working on this for around 5~6 months i think) but i'm planning to release a "w.i.p" or a demo on the mod browser once i'm 100% done with prehardmode i think warlock class aged... reasonably well for being a second mod that couldn't figure out how to add buffs directly to the player from a projectile when hitting a enemy until i revisited it a couple months later i miiiight try to rework it in my aforementioned mod, but that's not a guaranteed also i refused to search up "warlock" for the entirety of development, so yeah

when you end up reworking bombardier, once you finish with that consider also doing the same with warlock. it feels a little too much like mage in its current state but has a ton of potential. maybe have the class use your life for magic big attacks, and have the melee side have a similar playstyle to true melee, but with some different types of weapon use styles rather than normal swords, spears and what not, and give them some life steal. not sure if its the best idea for a rework, but im just spitballing what sounds interesting imo

I love the summoner class but the content in vanilla is lacking, however I love the mod called "Amulet of many minions". It adds squires, good AI and a ton of minions that all blend into vanilla terraria perfectly. This mod makes summoner how it should have been :)

It is great, yes, but some of the minions are quite a bit overtuned compared to vanilla/even stuff like Calamity weaponry for points of the game they're obtained at. Also certain armors like the Squire Spooky set are completely busted due to using multiplicative multipliers instead of additive for some dumb reason. Expect the slime train from post-moon lord to completely melt some modded bosses, and not even hit others, as a prime example. You can literally use that against Supreme Calamitas and it's probably close if not better in performance than Midnight Sun Beacons or the Yharon summons, aside from having issues with the brimstone hearts. Overall quality wise it's excellent, but I definitely would be wary of mixing its content with other mods if you want a balanced experience; with Calamity's nerf to Stardust Armor it makes Spooky a direct upgrade from Stardust, which is absolutely ridiculous.

@@RhythmicLycanroc we already know about the weird multiplicative minion damage usage, that will be fixed soon. and as for the minions themselves, they are pretty horribly balanced as is right now. i'll let the dev know about these issues again however to try and raise some awareness for them, since they're large issues with the mod right now. i could try to come up with perhaps some sort of rebalance list later on maybe tomorrow and try to see what should reasonably be nerfed or reworked since currently the mod is pretty jank lol

Mages aren’t really tied to mana that often tbh. At least in my calamity play throughs as long as I had mana regen potions when I had to super focus on dodging like during providences waves I had ample time to regen my mana. Unless you’re using the last prism upgrades. Goes the same for most other content mods I’ve played through.

Well... about classes I have some ideas first one is Necromancer it's a combination of mage and summoner and its reaper/skeleton-phantom themed Necromancers use sickles,spell books and staffs second is Destructioner and it more Viking-Paladin themed Destructioners use heavy melee weapons like Warhammers,Halberds,Waraxes and Maces and they are a bit slow at moving and attacking but very tanky well.. only this two was in my mind hope you and other guys like it!

Wish there is a Class Tree Upgrade System, like if you choose a class then later you can choose 1 in 2 class upgrade for them like: Warrior=>Swordman=>Blademaster => Soldier => Paladin => Berserker Mage => Wizard => Arcane Wizard => Sorcerer Archer => Hunter => Ranger => Gunslinger => Dead's Aim => Musketeer

Shameless advertising here, but we add something to that. Class Specialties, they give a player a unique buff that a lines with the class specialty (EX: Necromancer's summons steal life and "undead" enemies don't harm you). As you progress, you unlock an ability, (EX: Paladin can smite mobs and such). You also obtain new weapons that fit the theme of the class specialty. All this is coming in the next few updates!

I think the dev from redemption himself wanted the Druid to be like a mixture of Ranger/mage and summoner all in one And i think he did a brilliant work with It. It is alongside bard, rogue, Warlock and Saiyan, one of my favourite modded clases. I recommend anyone that tries redemption for his/her first time to play it as a Druid, for the better experience and if in company, at least one of the group should play as this class. Truly a mod with potential, im so glad i could see it growth bigger and better.

Bard is literally that one class that I think was smartly made imo. It’s not magic or summon items or melee, it’s literally instruments that can do various things

.......huh? bard can be constituted as magic, due to the items being magical instruments, and having similar attack patterns to mage weapons. this is like saying that whips are just warrior weapons, or that swords with a projectile are just ranged weapons because they shoot a projectile.

@@moonlitumbreon716 It’s how they made it work that made it unique not entirely the weapons themselves. You can turn a gun into a melee weapon by making it swing instead of shoot bullets or a sword that shoots projectiles that deals magic damage instead of melee. What I was trying to imply was that the Bard class had a good concept of using the mechanic called “Inspiration” and the whole class generally stands in creating damage while also granting various buffs. Most made-up classes just has a different damage type that is more or less just a variant of an already existing class. Not to mention that in the Bard Class, the instruments based on their classifications actually have different timers like brass, percussion, string, and wind; all of which have different timers from one another. And of course, each of the different instruments grant different buffs called “empowerments” from one another as well.

there should be a boxer class, less range than melee but there's a meter where it fills up as you land more attacks and when its 100%, you land a serious blow, and there's options on what kind of powerful attack you could land, like a punch, kick or headbutt, basically Little Mac

"Kingdom Terrahearts" is for 1.4, and it is VERY early in concept, but the Keyblader class already oozes potential, with keyblades that can combo, use magic and summons. It needs more attention to push the creator into ironing this mod to greatness.

Just started an Alchemist run in Orchid, with Fargo's and Gensokyo added on. I was having a ton of trouble, especially since I left Ocean Spawn from Best of Both Worlds on and had to *dig under the Corruption* to do anything, but I've finally got a solid gear set and it's a blast. Completely unlike anything I've seen in Terraria before! Only issue is, it looks like they don't have any Hardmode stuff for it yet. Ah well, Pre-Hardmode tends to be my favorite part of the game anyway!

You forgot to talk about the clerics 'alignment'. There are two types of clerics which depends on your actions and equipment: Light and Dark. Light Clerics wear untainted equipment and prioritize healing oneself and others over attacking (Heal numbers towards you and friends are bigger than hurt numbers towards enemies), while Dark Clerics wear tainted equipment (found or crafted like the rest, usually from untainted version) and prioritize attacking and doing damage over healing self and others (cleric drain equipment is the best way to achieve this). There is some equipment(Weapons, armors and accessories. Mostly late game.) that change what they do and what buffs and protection they give depending on your alignment. Your alignment can be viewed near your current equipment while looking in your inventory and will be gold or amethyst depending on your percentage towards one side of the alignment spectrum.

I'm... pretty sure thorium's healer never had that, and since it's the only class like that (mentioned in the video), I'm assuming that's what you're referring to The Thorium's healer class never had an alingment mechanic in the way you described, it was literally just changed trough wearing certain armor sets or accessories, and all it did was make shadowflame and light's curse (healer-exclusive debuff) deal more damage Though there is the Excelsior's cleris class which I haven't given any attention yet

I've played with both the Hunter and Ki classes. Both of them have their own unique twists, like using weapon upgrades instead of new weapons for the hunter class, having it's own unique movement mechanics for both, and genetics coming into play for the ki class. It's all really awesome stuff. I've actually been watching the development for DBT, and they have SSB developed, and they're working on the 1.4+ version

thorium make throwing really unique and into a worthy class they could have just ported it straight into the vanilla game only thing is the pillar situation... i believe thorium made the armor for throwing class post moonlord before they had the pillars drop throwing fragments just made out of straight luminite which could work

The good thing about custom classes is that you can quarantine them from mage gear and make it so you can use you own armor sets/accessories that won't also buff mage

Class idea: Timer Class. You can pause time and attack enemies while they're still in a short period of time, the catch? You have to wait to recharge your attacks, so you'll have to time when to attack and dodge while ypur attacks are recharging. The armors and weapons will be based around things that tell the time or related to it, maybe a Moon set referencing the moon changes or Sun Clock set, maybe weapons like a Sand clock, a Pendulum, an Hypnotist clock, etc... also accessories like a Calendar, a Cronometer, a Mayas' mask. The car from Back to the future and Phonebooth of Doctor Who could be mounts, like the ideas are infinite.

A stomper or brute class would be pretty neat. A class in which you mainly hop on enemies or ram into them, eventually unlocking new kinds of rams that allow you to do flips and dash through mulitiple enemies.

I wish there was a class that centered around mounts. Always felt like mounts could've been a cool class that can center around taking care of your mount and using it's attacks to do damage. I think I would call the class Beast Tamer.

Since mounts deal summon damage I consider them a subclass Terraria doesn't need directly new classes besides the coop ones such the the thorium ones as classes with different types doesn't do much to change the formula as we already have a one with energy system and another with ammo system and most modded classes ends up being a gimmick of either via having a different damage type.... That said having a more control over minions/ mounts would be idea The summoning staves don't do anything besides initial summoning maybe they can have summon abilities that costs more mana And since we can ride rails if we are close to them maybe certain summons works that way as well

Hi, Got a response from the Esper dev. themselves. Their response(s) was/were, and I quote: "Thanks for enjoying my mod!...." Followed by: "...the point isn't to be everything a psychic can do. Someone suggested I add content from Psychonauts. That's not the point of my class." And: "The weapons are intentionally focused on moving them with telekinesis. If I had psychic powers in general, there would be a lot of overlap with mage." Not to mention: "...it isn't trying to be like psychic classes from other games and more content is coming, in fact, the mod has been updated twice since that video was posted." Finally: "....and the end game update is coming soon[tm]." So be sure to stay tuned in for more stuff to be sure!!!

I have an idea for a class, I’ll call it.. The Sacrificial The Sacrificial class focuses around the idea that the more damage you take, the more damage you will deal (I.e more risk, more reward) as well as bringing weapons and armor that go around this idea, perhaps even a weapon to where you can damage yourself with it. Essentially the more damage you have taken, the more damage your weapons will deal, encouraging you to tank hits. Weapons I think could also work would be weapons that deal damage to you for using it, perhaps say a weapon where you can charge hits, and by charging the hit to it’s limit, you will take damage but will be rewarded with a higher damage output. Maybe even an armor type that will constantly inflict you with poison, but possibly return health or give you a damage buff the more you land hits or take damage.

I think they didn’t mention it because of how it’s basically a Throwing class remake (which would also explain why Thorium’s version of Thrower wasn’t mentioned either), but then again they covered a whole bunch of Mage reskins so idk.

I get that the Calamity mod is vastly known, that this video is to rep lesser known classes in played mods, but I was hoping to see the rogue class in there, since it's just about classes introduced from mods and not just from underrepresented mods. (And no, they aren't all underrepresented, but I didn't know them all either.)

Here is my class ideas 1. Music class Music item deal musical damage these weapons use mana Wave type:click and hold to create a musical wave in short-medium range that continuously damage the enemies but consume lot of mana Note type:shoot out note that's it Orchestra type:gradually get stronger as you click and hold dealing damage to enemies around you the area get bigger as you hold when at max range the weapons deal one final huge damage the twice or thrice amount of original damage and give you "Musical Shock" debuff Musical Shock:unable to use music related items even if it not music class 2. Artist class Artist items deal art damage use mana Draw type:click and hold then drag at the anywhere on your screen to create a line dealing damage the longer you draw the more mana consume(max X4 amount) these weapon can left click to slash in melee range Splash type:dealing huge damage in short to long range the longer you hold your mouse the longer it range these weapons are slow Other:doesn't fit the above 3.Nature class Deal natural damage doesn't consume mana but use "Nature's Grace" which can only be seen when holding nature class weapons Grown type:Grow a tree(or anything) at your mouse location max range depend on weapon can only be use on ground instead make an explosion when used in air Aroma type:use a smoky veil around the user buffing everyone (players,npc and summon?)and damage the enemies the veil will stay for a while and only one veil can exist at the times also cannot be use until the old veil is gone(best for multiplayer?) Other: doesn't fit the above 4. Throwing class Deal throwing damage there's no need to talk about this one

@@Hens1123Minecraft was about to say that. sadly it’s crazy unbalanced, and so for calamity to be even remotely hard using ki class you’ve gotta go death-malice. unless it’s early game. early game ki class kinda sucks.

@@jacobhafar538 I feel like they made the extra transformations too easy to get like by the time you reach DOG all forms are unlocked. I feel like you should get mastered UI from DOG and ultra ego from yharim. Also the ki drain on all the extra forms stays the same no matter how long you stay in those forms which is kinda why they are so OP lol

@@Hens1123Minecraft oh my god the ki drain is the same? i’m currently enjoying using Rosé against Providence (the first actual wall of the mod with ki class IMO) and so far that increased ki drain has been the only thing stopping me from just living in SSR the whole fight. That’s hilarious. And yeah, honestly the fact that MUI drops from such an early (and frankly anticlimactic/boring) boss is a little sad. Plus UIO dropping basically the boss after you get SSG is a little sad. To be honest though I wasn’t exactly expecting a perfectly fair playthru after seeing UE caps off at over 500% extra damage, so I’m not too disappointed. Hopefully they release a balance patch soon.

I think if clicker wanted to develop into a more formal route that didn’t use an actually corporeal computer mouse to fight, then I think it’d be cool if it were to be mashed with aura, just the aura does passive dot but you could click on enemies contained within the aura to deal extra damage

I think, we need a Rider\Equestrian class, that will use Mounts as their weapons. Terraria already has the Lances for that, but this type of weapones need a huge improvement.

Surprised no mention of thorium's healer or timestamps.. But i swear there was a necromancy mod somewhere can't remember it's name. 0:44 actually thrower was split off then remerged into the ranger class.. It was originally the ranger class and returned to it. if you can get your hand on tremor it has the alchemist class.

Once I turned 18, I started to feel existential dread of getting older and not being young anymore. Around that time, I suddenly got a dream which I remember vividly, not as much the visuals but more how I felt during it. I was an old man, and I was walking into a living room. As I walk in, I see two men sitting side by side talking to each other. I remember them being my sons. I also remember seeing a little girl running around who I remember was my granddaughter. I look to the other side of the room and see an old lady who I think was my wife. All that isn’t as important as what I felt in that moment. I felt a complete sense of ease and joy, a sense that I was content with everything I had. Seeing the joy of my family made me know that my life was worth it. I felt at peace with death and my inevitable end. I now just hope to live a life where at its end, I can look back and know that it was all worth it

isnt there a mod with continuation to the real engineer class? (this one exist in vanilla and just like thrower, was taken by ranged (welp not totally but some of its weapons are ranged) im refering to engineer as using traps and wires and not sentries like summoneer does

While i get that a lot of this is cool at the same time a ton of it is just bloat and makes working with other mods even harder, while some classes like the bard, healer, ki/spirtual, and clicker all bring new things to the table that make it actually interesting and new, most other classes could either 1. be rebranded as a vanilla class or 2. be used as an accessory for a vanilla class. while a ton of the classes have creative concepts making new damage types makes using other mods with that class a hassle and in the end most of the time you just switch to a vanilla one in the end game due to this. basically most class mods should make the class an equitable or even a game-mode-like-thing that ADDS to a pre-existing class instead of making a whole new thing that will just complicate stuff in the end.

Your argument sort of falls apart with the rebrand because you mention two class that can have the same treatment, aka thorium's classes, and to a degree the ki class. The only unique & simplistic is clicker class. But that class is a meme class that becomes tedious, and people literally download what is basically a cheat mod where the clicker class becomes more of a pointer class with an occasional click. So be careful what you say could be a "rebranded vanilla class," because the classes you like can fall into this category too.
