These mothers didn’t know they were pregnant. In 2021, three nurses were all on board the same flight when a woman went into labor. In 2019, 46-year-old Monica Thompson got the surprise of her life when she thought she had stomach cramps and ended up being pregnant. In 2015, 47-year-old Judy Brown thought she was gaining weight due to menopause, but left a doctor’s appointment with a baby. Inside Edition Digital’s Andrea Swindall has more.

The only reason she went to the doctor was because she was gaining weight without any real explanation. If she hadn’t done that she wouldn’t have known until I was born.

My mom thought she was getting her period and the doctor at the time (1995) told her to put her feet up to stop the bleeding. So there was that. But that said unknown pregnancy does happen

I didn't know i was pregnant until 27 weeks with one of my daughters. I had had a period and test weee negative even in office with my ob. I returned to him at 27 weeks and said there's something moving in there and low and behold there was. She was a small baby at 5lbs 6oz and is still a small little lady today Edit: i have always had a bmi of 20 so i don't know how but they can just hide sometimes.

I didn't know I was pregnant with my now 8yr old son until I was 5mths pregnant with him. I had complications with my kidneys and was sick a lot due to the medications I was on. Every few weeks my GP would do a pregnancy test but it kept coming back negative, so when one day it came back positive, I actually went into shock. That same night I had a massive bleed, was sent to the early pregnancy unit at our local hospital only to be told I was 5mths gone. We then had a gender scan and could actually see straight away he was a boy as he had his bum towards the screen. 😂. He came 6wks early weighing 6lbs 6oz but was very poorly so had to stay in NICU for 2 and a half weeks as he had too many white blood cells. He nearly died twice aswell. He has special needs with severe learning disabilities aswell as other complex needs including developmental delay and sensory problems. Apart from that, he's a happy, although very small 8yr old child. 😊

He has just started to learn how to sound out the letters through phonics, which most children learn by reception class. He's in yr4 but he will get there with plenty of encouragement. @Marycooper7423 not sure what you mean by that comment 🤔.

My story isn’t quite as dramatic, but I didn’t know I was pregnant with my son until I was 18 weeks along. I had 2 different doctors tell me that it wasn’t a pregnancy and diagnosed me with other things. My 2 pregnancy tests were inconclusive. I finally found a doctor that figured it out and boy was I confused. Misdiagnosed and upset with that, but grateful to have a healthy baby 18 weeks later ❤

I was pregnant for 3-1/2 months-( after having 4 other children) and i never knew it... I knew I felt tired, and "weird" but I had heavy periods all along, and it was even written down when I had periods, .. until I hemorrhaged and had a miscarriage, and was taken to the hospital in the ambulance, I was asked if I was PG and of course I said "no" as i had had heavy periods and it was recorded... But a ultrasound proved other wise, was 3-1/2 months pregnant and did not know it... It can happen.. My last child was born at age 47 , and at first I thought I was in menopause, and was just very tired for some reason, but a test proved i was PG...

Fun fact if a baby is born on a plane the baby nationally will be what ever contry there flying over if the baby is born in international water then it will be the contry that houses the planes company like if a British woman gave birth on a American airlines flight over international waters the baby would be American because that's the planes origin. Kid might not have moved much. Plus some people just don’t experience the typical signs of pregnancy or have other health issues that might mask certain symptoms (ex: an obese person not noticing more weight or someone with PCOS or endometriosis who has an irregular period might not think to check for a while since they’re used to it taking longer between periods)

In many of these types of cases, people get false negative pregnancy tests. That coupled with barely, if any, pregnancy symptoms causes some people to not know. Some people's bodies don't really show any signs of pregnancy, this is not common but it does happen.

I didn't know I was pregnant the first time at all. I had unusual periods and I hardly gained any weight. I never had morning sickness I was tired and sad all the time. I thought it was depression when I went to the hospital found out I was 4 1/2 months pregnant with a boy. I went from thinking I was depressed to shocked. I was lucky enough to carry him to full term. I only weighed 136 pounds when I had him. His dad got freaked out that he left and never came back. My child will be graduating from high school next year he just turned 17 years old last Thursday.

🚽 ~ Imagine how dangerous it is to feel like you have to have a bowel movement, because as I understand it that’s often how it feels to a woman. And then all of a sudden your baby falls out headfirst into the toilet and it can give them brain damage from the impact. Plus as was stated in the video, older women might just assume that the lack of a period is due to the onset of menopause.

And you've clearly worked in a labor and delivery ward. Yeah, this happens a lot. In a society that's embracing being overweight, you lose one of your biggest signs. The incidence rate of women not knowing that they're pregnant and suddenly give birth is on the rise. It's shrunk to about 1 in every 2,500 pregnancies where the mother doesn't know until birth.
