I think there might be 2 types of giant ants on Skull Island. From what I remember in the movie when Hank Marlow mentions the ants he says they hide in trees and mimic the sounds of birds, but in the show the giants ants live in underground tunnels. If there are in fact 2 giant ants species on the island I think it is pretty cool to see the different adaptations they evolved to suit their ecological niche.

What if the "Croc Monsters" are actually juvenile Sirenjaws? The Sirenjaw profile states that they're more active when young (which could explain its agility) and that plant life only grows on them when they mature and become less active.

I doubt it, the change from young to adult is VERY different, it would be almost like a metamorphisis between a small swoll thin snuoted croc to a giant robust, slow and more sluggish stout noses croc

I was a little disappointed by the creature from the series just big generic normal animals, however Kraken’s uniqueness made up for a lot of that, and I’m hoping that the massive chasm from at Kong’s lair will allow more titans to rise from the depths

Someone else here came up with cool names for these guys, and they really need better names than "giant ant" and "croc monster", so I gave it a shot: 6:28 Riverfang (Suchocursor velox). The name means "swift runner crocodile". A fast, active predator, unlike the sirenjaw, its closest relative. 2:00 Helldo (Raphoides infernalis), the dodo from hell. Its flightless predatory lifestyle caused it to convergently evolve with phorusrhacids. 2:45 Treevourer (Irennia gigantea). A massive, carnivorous angiosperm equipped with sensory organs in its petals and vines that restrain captured prey. Named after Irene of course. 4:56 Geopod (Lithosquilla petrae). Name means "boulder shrimp". An isopod of gigantic size and absurdly long lifespan. It can momentarily mesmerize its victims with the shiny geode-like mineral that protudes from their underside.

I’m gonna name some of these 1:57 terror Dodos (it’s obvious why) 2:48 Venus’ flora (since venus is the goddess of beauty but she is a toxic karen and makes everyones’ lives miserable just like in the show where they say that the flowers are beautiful but then they ambush them and flora because they are plants 3:49 Giant cave hymenopterans (because they live in caves and they are big and ants are in the family Hymenoptera which also have bees and wasp who also live like ants (queen and workers etc...)(some wasps don’t live like this for example parasitic wasps)) 4:57 geod stomach roly poly (obvious why) 6:27 Pheidipiddisuchus (pehidippides is an ancient greek athlete who runs very quickly and suchus is crocodile in greek and often associated with extinct reptiles (kaprosuchus (my favorite one btw), deinosuchus, sarcosuchus, postosuchus, marasuchus etc...) 7:56 Nocturnal golblins (they look like goblin and live a night) 9:00 Massive color mimics (they are massive and they mimic and change colors) 12:27 Plains Phoenix (obvious why) Edit: Venus’ flora and pheidippidisuchus are the ones im most proud of

I bet the Giga Croc is either a more evolved Kaprosuchus or the young form of a Siren Jaw. Would make sense if it was. While young they can effoetlessly keep up with prey but as they get older they transition to a sedentary lifestyle cause their increased size slowed them down to much.

Ridiculously fast, way faster than the crawler, a far more powerful bite than the crawler (it drew blood instantaneously when biting Kong while the skull crawler bites really didn't seem to do much to a younger and less well-built Kong). Plus they have long range attack with their tongue.

Well yeah the names are super simple. The Skull island creatures are mostly supposed to be giant versions of real life animals. That has always been the case of Skull Island (well that and dinosaurs). So Legendary is staying true to the roots of Skull Island while introducing more animals. Also those crocs must be related to the Sirenjaws of Skull Island. Maybe a sub-species?

I have a theory, in the 2017 film they didnt see these new creatures but why? Well just like jpark 2 and 3 they take place on the same island but a different area / territory. So the island probably was seperated into 2 parts, 1 with the high danger predators, skullcrawlers etc. And the other with the low/mid danger predators, idk though i havent seen the show.

I like to refer to the Rock Bug as a “Geodepede” (or Geopede). Granted it’s not a millipede or centipede at all, but it stuck. Also whenever I see the Hawk I am always reminded of Galarian Zapdos lol. What if the Hawk is the Monsterverse’s way of bringing the Giant Condor from Ebirah: Horror of the Deep back? I’m not sure why they’d choose the condor over any other showa era kaiju that’s been forgotten, but it’s a interesting thought I think.

Now because some of the name given here are super dumb i decided to give some of my own fan names, I'll go in the order of the creatures listed and decide to either give them a new name or let the keep it, this is all in good fun but i wish the team of this show had more creativity and if you want to use these names feel free too. 1: Trapdoor Crab, it's a fitting name but i think *Sandspit Crab* could work well 2: Giant Dodo while accurate isn't very interesting so instead what about *Gigapullpes* , which means giant chicken foot in latin 3: Venus Fly trap creature...really -_-, how about a *Snapping butterfly tree* this name originates from there size and appearance in the show 4: Giant Ant, the name just fits like a glove 5: Rock bug is a boring name so how about *Geisopode* , geode isopode it just fits 6: Croc Monster/Giga Croc, i'm thinking more like *Jungle Tailed Alligator* but considering that titanus doug is a thing Giga Croc is probably better 7: Nightboys... -_- i'm not here to rant i'm here to list name so here a simple and way better name *Star Stalker* , come on it's that easy 8: Killer Chameleon, honestly a very fitting name so onto the next one 9: Dog. Dog? DOG!! That's like renaming everything in the sea to be called fish. *Maned Dog* . Easy. Simple. Done 10: Giant Hawk monster could be renamed to something like *Sun Soarer* , it's a unique name that is reflected in its red-ish colour scheme And there you have it my fan made names for the skull island creatures presented in the show, if Goji Center does a part two i might be back, also remember this is all in good fun cuz it's not like the names will magically change anyway so feel free to come up with even better names in this comment and tell me why my names are dumb, until next time and have a good rest of your day.

7:38, Seeing this croc beast retreat from the cliff only to belly flop off it to resume its pursuit only to get eaten by Kong with the same effort of a person reaching into their cupboard and grabbing an M&M made me fall in love with this show. Besides the witty and engaging character work for even minor characters like Sam, the titans and their action sequences were some of the best in the franchise due to how formidable the creatures were. 10:09, And aside from the Sea Beast, which threw a whale just to piss off Kong (the titan equivalent of tossing a brick through someone’s window) , the best example of this would most definitely be the chamelions due to how relentless and resilient they were, continuing to attack and focus on food even falling from several stories and even while impaled through the torso.
