Watch the No Holding calls on Lion's Hutchinson as he spins his way in. They tackle him which is usually a hold. But the NFL Owners all make more money in the playoffs, ask me, a LIONS fan who's ownership is the same family as the last time they won the title., 1967, I mean 1957. (Too young to know.). They hold him by his jersey with hands literally double wrapped and unable to release but no calls. . There are teams with stretch and tear away jerseys this year and no one stopping them, Unreal! Obvious!. No shirt tackles as shirts stretch as they shirt stretching like rubber bands. They had rules about this and there they are. Didn't test? Hard to grip slick material and it stretches, too. Jerseys are not supposed to stretch five feet. Ridiculous and obvious. Why is t allowed? oh, the league favorite draws use them this year, Surprise?.

Most people don’t understand how much money is involved. In close games, the bookie or gambling company wins both ways. Your team might win but not by the points to cover or your team loses but it’s too close. Then count the halftime beats where it looks like your team is losing. You change your bets but then your team wins.

For a referee to apologize years later "could be" clear evidence that the game was fixed. Normal people without sociopathic tendencies have a conscience that wears on them and an apology "could be" a way to relieve that anxiety. I'm surprised you wouldn't catch that.

OR...ref just knew he blew it, and guilt rose to level to lead to his apology...not a sign of a "rigging". Besides, the vast majority of people (the common sense...66% of people) don't understand other people very well, nor do they make high-level moral decisions. @@CaptainTrips560 Saints didn't choke and that was definitely pass interference. Even the league admitted the Rams should have been called for that penalty. You missed one of the biggest factors behind these fixes. Billion dollar stadiums are routinely financed with municipal bonds that require public support. The Bucs stadium was built in 1998. Seattle's new stadium completed in 2002. Super Bowl wins or appearances happen within 5 years before or after every new stadium built over the past 40 years. Is that 10 year window too much for you to believe? Check it out. Teams without new stadiums go many decades without a Super Bowl. Key point. You don't always get a win. You get an appearance.

"I think the Vikings we're supposed to win the Super Bowl in 2009" - Source: Trust me bro... suuuuuurreee Also, let's go with your narrative for a minute... So because New Orleans/Katrina, which happened in 2005, meant the NFL was going to "script them" a SB appearance/win in 2010? So this meant that Minnesota who was "written in" for that appearance/win... got...what, pushed? So why not Minnesota in 2011, 2012, 2013..... tick tock man.... Since you seem to be 'in the know here' Starting from 2005, explain the "why" for 1. Each team's appearance in the SB 2. Why the winning team was "chosen". Also explain why if "building a new stadium" is part of this, please do explain the reason why Detroit Cleveland Minnesota Houston Las Vegas All have yet to win SBs post new stadium built.....let alone BE IN ONE.

I believe this goes on far more than we even realize. Make no mistake Vegas and the gambling industry control all sports not just the NFL. As far as the NFL that’s why teams are required to submit an injury report, not because of a league rule or player safety or whatever. It’s so Vegas can adjust the odds on the game. I’m not saying all games are fixed but I’d say this goes far deeper than anyone can fathom.

The W/S has gone seven games 28% of the time since 1998 and 35% of the time since 1967. You're doing what we all do, your memory is more attuned to the exceptional rather than the normal. And therefore you are overvaluing how often the exceptional occurs. The aforementioned percentages fit perfectly with the game of baseball. Two of, at the very least, the top six teams will feature, meaning the match up is fairly even. Considering the best ball club is guaranteed to lose 1/3 of their games while the worst team loses 2/3, when matching up two of the top teams one winning four straight is almost never going to happen. That means the series usually ends in five, six or seven games. It simply doesn't go seven games more often than it mathematically should.

I watched the Chiefs-Bengals tonight. I'm not a big fan of either team, but the zebras gave the Chiefs gift after gift. The worst was giving the Chiefs a free timeout, when the refs said that they needed to slightly change the position of the ball after THEY set it up to be snapped. Then, when the Bengals stopped the Chiefs on 3rd down on that play, the officials suddenly said that the play didn't count, because of a clock issue. But they let the play run before they did anything! I watched it over and over again. If KC had been successful on 3rd, the play would stand. When it failed, they gave KC do-overs. Might as well watch pro wrestling.

The taunting call for Wiley waiving his arms (the chiefs just had a big play and wpuld have been on like the bengals 30 but instead were on the chiefs 40) is what led to the fumble and later a bengals score so you really cant say that the refs gave the Bengals the game. All very valid points - good research. No professional head coach would change the game plan 2 days before the championship game without ulterior motive, as in SB37. As well as keeping the same verbiage that the opposing coach knows. If the officiating in SB40 wasn't rigged, it is certainly the worst officiating in SB history. The officiating in the Saints/Rams NFC championship game was the absolute worst. Unfortunately, legalized gambling and promotion by the NFL is only going to make this problem worse.

Missed opportunity to mention how the league robbed the Saints of a superbowl birth and what would've been a more entertaining game of Patriots vs. Saints. I'm old enough (75) to remember watching Super Bowl III. There is a factor not discussed. The Colts ran a zone defense which nobody else in pro football ran. Nobody in the NFL had figured out how to attack a zone. The Jets did figure out that zones left short areas open, and Namath did a great job of picking that weakness apart. His short passes acted like a ball control run game. This put a lot of pressure on the Colts offense, which it had not faced all year, since they counted on their defense to get them many offensive chances during the game. Zone secondaries are much more difficult to run against, the Colts defense generated a lot of 3 and outs against other teams, and that didn't happen against the Jets.

Spot on. The other thing is in the Colts other loss, in the regular season against Cleveland, they also had several turnovers through the air from both QBs and Browns tailback Leroy Kelly ran wild. The pattern was set if not repeated again for awhile- as good as the Colt passing game was if you could frustrate it and force it to go the length of the field it was possible they might make mistakes. Like Minnesota the next year Baltimore relied on the field position coming from its defense as well, but in this game Lou Michaels kicked very poorly and left those points on the table. (In Super Bowl 4 Minnesota was surprised by the range of KC kicker Jan Stenerud, which gave them less margin for error. ) Far and away the biggest issue was, to your point, the man to man matchup between George Sauer and Lenny Lyles, who was feeling poorly to begin with. The Colts moved their zone to take away the injured Don Maynard and left Lyles, normally a good cornerback to cover Sauer on those short passes one on one. Sauer schooled him. The Jets also changed up their blocking to run left right at Colt DE Ordell Braase, who was getting older at that point and did not hold up (similar again to earlier Cleveland game) against Snell and Boozer on runs to that side. I don’t know if Super Bowl 3 was thrown; looking at it it seems the Colts came out flat and were surprised as heck to be shut out in the first half, then they fumbled the second half kickoff and things got tougher.

Robbins mental health event was wholly or heavily a result of the change. Super Bowl I’m sure has a certain stress level, but he and others ideally lower it through thorough prep. His statement directly discussing insufficient time for necessary time to prep seems completely rational. Shifting to pass heavy could’ve been an honest change based on film, info, etc. But the HC/staff not having seemingly any significant dialogue with the players before implementing was massively irresponsible at a minimum, and this would be the case without Barret or anyone else being so mentally affected.

the NFL is 100% fixed. they might not always get the outcomes they want, but for the most part, all it takes is a few calls or no calls to swing a game, and they do it all the time. just look at last night with jags vs titans. a couple questionable calls wiped out 2 big plays for the titans and thats all it took to get trevor lawerence into the playoffs. the NFL is drooling at the prospect of sunshine becoming one of the faces of the league. but i mean NO wins SB after katrina, the pats win after 911. its so obvious they fix the games, especially if you are big into fantasy football or just a huge fan in general and you watch a lot of football and pay attention to a dozen or so games every week. just this season alone, i bet i watched no less than 35 games with extremely suspect officiating that directly led to the outcome of the game and who won.

@greengrass1072 Um whaaat!?!?!? What does any of this prove??? Grudens (first 1998-99) and 2nd year as Raiders coach (1999-2000) they went 8-8. In fact the 3 years before Gruden took over, they were 8-8, 7-9, 4-12... then Gruden took over after that 4-12 season. This is credit more to Gruden in turning a sub-par team around into a decent team. So your "evidence" of a fix is that: • in a regular season game • 3 years removed from these two teams meeting in the SB • one of Gruden's 8 wins that year was an impressive win • Against the team he would then go be the HC coach • THREE years later... • With Gruden making that TB a better team than Dungy had??? Yes, the Raiders offense was impressive that year, but not even close to being historic. However, the separation from 1st/2nd offense wasn't as far as what Gruden's 1st/best defense was doing over the 2nd, 3rd ranked defenses. And all of that was BEFORE they met in the SB! Sorry, this is weak 'evidence' at best.

After awhile the linemen learned who was in charge of the game and that was that. The officials even made sure that was not going to be all cause Pittsburg kept needing more and more help and they got it at every turn. After the game Holmberg got a one time only ever in the NFL where he the coach criticized the officiating and he never got fined for it. Years later one of the officials did step up to say so far as the only thing he regretted while working was officiating in this super bowl. why? Jerome was never a top tier back he never lead the league in rushing never a mvp never top 10 in any stat. he's not even a top 50 rb of all time so why rig a game over a irrelevant rb who's never gonna be remembered

It was money. Pittsburgh is an earner and a winner in a VERY BIG way. Merch and fanbase. There are Steelers bars world wide but the world does not care about baltimore and seattle and many other low level teams. They just do not drive the fans. Follow the money.

I didn’t watch this video bc I already know. I stopped watching pro sports years ago. My wife & coach our middle school children & tbh I love watching the kids play way more. Seeing their excitement & watching them grow & develop as players is way better for me.

@LTrain45 45 It used to be that JUST the owners were crooked... Now, the league is infested with hoodlums on the field and brigands in the coaching staff and front offices.

I hadn't considered this until I remembered Seattle's loss by not running Marshan Lynch into the endzone from a half yard out & PASSING??? instead. Worst call in history. Lynch quit football, not just the team. You put the beast in beast mode to plow in!!! How did that NOT happen???

Caroll blew the time management. He was never good at that. I think he was worried about the clock and tried to sneak a pass in so there was time for another running attempt on third down? Plus a timeout. People tend to forget Lynch really wasn’t that great in those situations. He fumbled in the NFC title game the year before from the one. He was someone you wanted to get a head of steam and churn through linebackers and safeties in open space. The fact also was the pass was a good call against that goal line defense … the players didn’t execute. If our receiver sets the pick and the throw isn’t late no one says anything about the call. It would have been a “genius call.” That’s sports. A bad call is always the one the players don’t execute.

Skip Bayless explained how poor Seattle's short yardage run stat was that season. But yeah, shoulda run regardless.

Simple if they ran beast mode he would have gotten mvp and he didn't talk to reporters which is a bad look for the nfl. Carrol wanted Wilson to win mvp instead of Brady. The next season on a half yard situation carrol called a Wilson pass again then was the end of legion of boom. Sherman called carrol on it after the game to reporters and left to San Francisco. Seattle hasn't done anything since. BTW carrols assistant did same thing in Atlanta pats superbowl. Try to pass from the 20 yard line with an 8 point lead and got sacked. 3 runs burn the clock and get a extra point for 11 point lead with under 2 minutes is how it should have ended. 2 coaches from Seattle losing 2 superbowls by refusing to run so pats could win.

@@Twotontessie that's exactly what happened. It was just time ticking away and Belichick not calling time out. The crazy thing about people thinking that was rigged or a gimme is that the defensive back has to catch the ball while being run into by the intended receiver. What happens if Butler drops it? How did Butler know it was coming? Did Carroll tell him? If Butler drops it, the Seahawks have two more cracks at the end zone. They also overlook that Seattle made that call to pass precisely because they're thinking, "New England is expecting a run here. Let's throw it and catch them by surprise."

@@joelhague5515 yes this is exactly as I remember it. 1) Seattle was thinking that the LAST thing Pat's were thinking was a run play. 2) However, Butler saw the formation while studying video. He saw two Seattle players lined up in an unusual run type formation and he knew what was coming. 3) Butler barely had time to scream a pass audible, so they caught Seattle with their pants down. 4) The only hope was for Wilson to call an audible or a time out, but he must not have heard Butler shouting that he had sniffed out the play.
