Two calls give the Refs the ability to affect the outcome of close games Offensive Holding= takes place on every single play Defensive Pass Interference = Takes place on every single play The circumstances that they chose to call these penalties gives them control of the outcome of games .

Watch the No Holding calls on Lion's Hutchinson as he spins his way in. They tackle him which is usually a hold. But the NFL Owners all make more money in the playoffs, ask me, a LIONS fan who's ownership is the same family as the last time they won the title., 1967, I mean 1957. (Too young to know.). They hold him by his jersey with hands literally double wrapped and unable to release but no calls. . There are teams with stretch and tear away jerseys this year and no one stopping them, Unreal! Obvious!. No shirt tackles as shirts stretch as they shirt stretching like rubber bands. They had rules about this and there they are. Didn't test? Hard to grip slick material and it stretches, too. Jerseys are not supposed to stretch five feet. Ridiculous and obvious. Why is t allowed? oh, the league favorite draws use them this year, Surprise?.

@Abort Christ Saints didn't choke and that was definitely pass interference. Even the league admitted the Rams should have been called for that penalty. If they had, NO would have been within striking distance to score a touchdown with less than 2 minutes left and if they had they most likely would have won the game. After the controversial no-call, several officials who worked this game were fired by the league. The Saints didn't get "screwed". They got screwed.

Most people don’t understand how much money is involved. In close games, the bookie or gambling company wins both ways. Your team might win but not by the points to cover or your team loses but it’s too close. Then count the halftime beats where it looks like your team is losing. You change your bets but then your team wins.

For me, the problem with officiating is the subjectively selecting WHEN to make calls/no calls.....example, both teams have been holding all game "letting them play" (so to speak) but when it provides an opportunity to call back a touchdown, THATS when they decide to call it... infuriating! Once there are a couple of calls against your team, I 100% guarantee the players on that team realize "hey, I can't push the envelope on what will be tolerated, these officials are being strict". I believe this goes on far more than we even realize. Make no mistake Vegas and the gambling industry control all sports not just the NFL. As far as the NFL that’s why teams are required to submit an injury report, not because of a league rule or player safety or whatever. It’s so Vegas can adjust the odds on the game. What about it? The Saints still had plenty of chances after that non-call to finish off the Rams and they didn't. The Saints even got the ball first in overtime and still couldn't put the Rams away. You can complain all you want about that bad call, but Drew Brees simply didn't have the arm he used to have and was playing at a diminished capacity. In fact he retired after that. All very valid points - good research. No professional head coach would change the game plan 2 days before the championship game without ulterior motive, as in SB37. As well as keeping the same verbiage that the opposing coach knows. If the officiating in SB40 wasn't rigged, it is certainly the worst officiating in SB history. The officiating in the Saints/Rams NFC championship game was the absolute worst. Unfortunately, legalized gambling and promotion by the NFL is only going to make this problem worse.

the NFL is 100% fixed. they might not always get the outcomes they want, but for the most part, all it takes is a few calls or no calls to swing a game, and they do it all the time. just look at last night with jags vs titans. a couple questionable calls wiped out 2 big plays for the titans and thats all it took to get trevor lawerence into the playoffs. the NFL is drooling at the prospect of sunshine becoming one of the faces of the league. but i mean NO wins SB after katrina, the pats win after 911. its so obvious they fix the games, especially if you are big into fantasy football or just a huge fan in general and you watch a lot of football and pay attention to a dozen or so games every week. just this season alone, i bet i watched no less than 35 games with extremely suspect officiating that directly led to the outcome of the game and who won.

Caroll blew the time management. He was never good at that. I think he was worried about the clock and tried to sneak a pass in so there was time for another running attempt on third down? Plus a timeout. People tend to forget Lynch really wasn’t that great in those situations. He fumbled in the NFC title game the year before from the one. He was someone you wanted to get a head of steam and churn through linebackers and safeties in open space. The fact also was the pass was a good call against that goal line defense … the players didn’t execute. If our receiver sets the pick and the throw isn’t late no one says anything about the call. It would have been a “genius call.” That’s sports. A bad call is always the one the players don’t execute.

Simple if they ran beast mode he would have gotten mvp and he didn't talk to reporters which is a bad look for the nfl. Carrol wanted Wilson to win mvp instead of Brady. The next season on a half yard situation carrol called a Wilson pass again then was the end of legion of boom. Sherman called carrol on it after the game to reporters and left to San Francisco. Seattle hasn't done anything since. BTW carrols assistant did same thing in Atlanta pats superbowl. Try to pass from the 20 yard line with an 8 point lead and got sacked. 3 runs burn the clock and get a extra point for 11 point lead with under 2 minutes is how it should have ended. 2 coaches from Seattle losing 2 superbowls by refusing to run so pats could win.

@@Twotontessie that's exactly what happened. It was just time ticking away and Belichick not calling time out. The crazy thing about people thinking that was rigged or a gimme is that the defensive back has to catch the ball while being run into by the intended receiver. What happens if Butler drops it? How did Butler know it was coming? Did Carroll tell him? If Butler drops it, the Seahawks have two more cracks at the end zone. They also overlook that Seattle made that call to pass precisely because they're thinking, "New England is expecting a run here. Let's throw it and catch them by surprise."

@@joelhague5515 yes this is exactly as I remember it. 1) Seattle was thinking that the LAST thing Pat's were thinking was a run play. 2) However, Butler saw the formation while studying video. He saw two Seattle players lined up in an unusual run type formation and he knew what was coming. 3) Butler barely had time to scream a pass audible, so they caught Seattle with their pants down. 4) The only hope was for Wilson to call an audible or a time out, but he must not have heard Butler shouting that he had sniffed out the play.

Robbins mental health event was wholly or heavily a result of the change. Super Bowl I’m sure has a certain stress level, but he and others ideally lower it through thorough prep. His statement directly discussing insufficient time for necessary time to prep seems completely rational. Shifting to pass heavy could’ve been an honest change based on film, info, etc. But the HC/staff not having seemingly any significant dialogue with the players before implementing was massively irresponsible at a minimum, and this would be the case without Barret or anyone else being so mentally affected.

There is so much merit regarding the Raiders/Bucs game and what Tim Brown says about it. In Gruden’s 2nd year as coach as the Raiders, they played the Bucs towards the end of the season and absolutely crushed them running all over them and winning 45-0. The Raiders were loaded that year and it was their time, but Bill Callahan was an a-hole for what he did here and that veteran team knew it.

@greengrass1072 Um whaaat!?!?!? What does any of this prove??? Grudens (first 1998-99) and 2nd year as Raiders coach (1999-2000) they went 8-8. In fact the 3 years before Gruden took over, they were 8-8, 7-9, 4-12... then Gruden took over after that 4-12 season. This is credit more to Gruden in turning a sub-par team around into a decent team. So your "evidence" of a fix is that: • in a regular season game • 3 years removed from these two teams meeting in the SB • one of Gruden's 8 wins that year was an impressive win • Against the team he would then go be the HC coach • THREE years later... • With Gruden making that TB a better team than Dungy had??? Yes, the Raiders offense was impressive that year, but not even close to being historic. However, the separation from 1st/2nd offense wasn't as far as what Gruden's 1st/best defense was doing over the 2nd, 3rd ranked defenses. And all of that was BEFORE they met in the SB! Sorry, this is weak 'evidence' at best.

Seattles linemen on offense and defense could not raise a hand above their waists without drawing a holding call while Pittsburg was allowed to do anything. After awhile the linemen learned who was in charge of the game and that was that. The officials even made sure that was not going to be all cause Pittsburg kept needing more and more help and they got it at every turn. After the game Holmberg got a one time only ever in the NFL where he the coach criticized the officiating and he never got fined for it. Years later one of the officials did step up to say so far as the only thing he regretted while working was officiating in this super bowl. It was so bad I could not bring myself to watch another NFL game for 3 years afterwards and the city of Detroit still stinks to this day.

I definitely believe the 2005 Superbowl was fixed against Seattle for the Steelers. I was watching as an impartial fan and couldn't believe the calls on the field. Also the review on Rothlesberger's touchdown wasn't that close. The football was kept behind the end zone line. The Raiders vs Tampa Bay SB might have been fixed, given some of info shared on this video. At the time I just thought Callahan was a bad coach and the distractions with their player going AWOL caused issues. I am not old enough for an opinion on SB 3. I was born later that year. I believe that the key action which allowed the Rams to win Super Bowl LVI had occurred in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter, when the Rams were knocking on the door to the end zone and the Bengals defense were valiantly performing well to preventing them from scoring the go-ahead touchdown. A flag was thrown against the Rams for a known hard foul and the referee was about to announce the call when an official in a white cap ran out of the end zone to the head referee. There was a discussion between the two officials, and after that the head referee called both a hard foul against the Rams and a "judgemental call " against the Bengals defense, thus negating the penalty and replaying the down. This led to a Rams touchdown and changed the way the game continued to having the Bengals offense attempt to make plays in order to at least tie the game and take the game to overtime. The Bengals lost the game, and Goodell happily "congratulated " the Rams owner in the sky box. The final interesting item about the game is that the Super Bowl number could have suggested a nearby neutral site for playing the game so that neither team would have any inherent home field advantage!

The bay area had a major earthquake, during the world series, which was held at Candlestick Park, so the bay area suffers an earthquake while the world series is being held there, and not only that, the teams playing in that wold series were both bay area teams. The holding call against Cincy last year was pretty bad. It's 1 thing to not make a call because you missed it, it was bang bang or just weren't sure but it's entirely different when you make a call for holding under 2 min to go in a super bowl when you couldn't have possibly seen it because it didn't happen. Logan Wilson's coverage was text book, exactly how you're taught. Not only do you make a phantom call which is way worse than missing one but you do it after letting both teams play all game not calling Ramsey on blatant holds at least 3 times almost tearing recievers t-shirt under jersey off but then make a phantom call that gives a team 4 more shots at the end zone for a title instead of 1 shot on 4th and goal from the 8.

I'm old enough (75) to remember watching Super Bowl III. There is a factor not discussed. The Colts ran a zone defense which nobody else in pro football ran. Nobody in the NFL had figured out how to attack a zone. The Jets did figure out that zones left short areas open, and Namath did a great job of picking that weakness apart. His short passes acted like a ball control run game. This put a lot of pressure on the Colts offense, which it had not faced all year, since they counted on their defense to get them many offensive chances during the game. Zone secondaries are much more difficult to run against, the Colts defense generated a lot of 3 and outs against other teams, and that didn't happen against the Jets.

Spot on. The other thing is in the Colts other loss, in the regular season against Cleveland, they also had several turnovers through the air from both QBs and Browns tailback Leroy Kelly ran wild. The pattern was set if not repeated again for awhile- as good as the Colt passing game was if you could frustrate it and force it to go the length of the field it was possible they might make mistakes. Like Minnesota the next year Baltimore relied on the field position coming from its defense as well, but in this game Lou Michaels kicked very poorly and left those points on the table. (In Super Bowl 4 Minnesota was surprised by the range of KC kicker Jan Stenerud, which gave them less margin for error. ) Far and away the biggest issue was, to your point, the man to man matchup between George Sauer and Lenny Lyles, who was feeling poorly to begin with. The Colts moved their zone to take away the injured Don Maynard and left Lyles, normally a good cornerback to cover Sauer on those short passes one on one. Sauer schooled him. The Jets also changed up their blocking to run left right at Colt DE Ordell Braase, who was getting older at that point and did not hold up (similar again to earlier Cleveland game) against Snell and Boozer on runs to that side. I don’t know if Super Bowl 3 was thrown; looking at it it seems the Colts came out flat and were surprised as heck to be shut out in the first half, then they fumbled the second half kickoff and things got tougher.

I can believe this,,,just look at last year's super bowl,,,like 2 penalty calls on the Bengals,,,and enough yellow laundry on the field the last 2 minutes,,kept throwing flags and giving first downs until the Rams got that victory,,,the NFL absolutely did not want the lowly Bengals winning that game,,too small a market to make money out of a championship,,,its also all about the gambling now,,,follow the money,,it always leads to evil

@@jakeaguas In those days prior to SB III (1969), it was just assumed that the NFL was superior (just like we Canadians thought our NHL players were better than the Russians prior to the 1972 USSR-Canada Summit series). I remember watching the 1968 movie Paper Lion in 1968 when it came out. In the movie, the George Plimpton character played by Alan Alda approached Vince Lombardi playing himself about him working out with the Packers in the preseason so he could write a book about his experience. Lombardi baulked at what he thought was a ludicrous idea (as in, come on, we are the NFL, what do you think we are, etc.) and smiled while condescendingly suggesting to Alda that he should try the AFL. I remember thinking like Lombardi after two wins over AFL teams that the AFL was an inferior league, etc.

The Pittsburgh Seattle bowl was quite blatant. If officials are just having a "bad" day then the calls should be for or against "both" teams and the definitely were not. The entire lead up to the game and then the game itself had just a nasty feel to it. Officials are certainly capable of influencing a game, and they certainly did here. No question about it.

The whole lead up to the game was 2 weeks of everyone only talking about the steelers return to glory and Jerome Bettis playing his last game at the super bowl in Detroit. It was a dead give away who was going to win. Vince McMahon would have done a better job at making it look real.

I have always suspected that refs will try and steer a game toward who they want to win. It only takes a few calls (or no-calls) to change the complexion of a game between closely matched teams. And this is not just in the NFL, but in every league that makes big money.

Every single employee and associate of the NFL, from the commissioner all the way down to the maintenance staffs, are required to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Sports in the United States is no longer about competition it's about money and that requires entertainment. The league cannot rig games per se but they can sure have a whole lot of influence over the outcomes. Remember Saints Rams championship game a few years ago?

I could buy the Calahan deal because AL was a monster to coaches and Marcus Allen. The Seahawks superbowl was terrible I really wanted that one for my Dad who passed shortly after the game, who was an avid hawks fan. He put up with so many bad seasons. Where is money to be made and Humans with gripes this going to happen? Of Couse, those games and others were fixed. I really realized this with the first Patriots win and the one with the Patriots and Falcons. The Rams that year no one could stop but the Patriots limit them to 16?( I think) and the Falcons only had to run the ball to win IMO to win so they start throwing it and not catching it. This happens in Playoff games and regular season games too. With gambling and promotion, it happens

Really, because there are literally hundreds of people in the comments on recent 'NFL is Rigged' videos claiming that the players are all in on it. They claim they are actors working to a script and that people like Aaron Rodgers feigned injury to go along with the script. if this is the case then Reggie White would not have looked confused because he was working to a script and already knew the outcome. Personally, I think this is one of the most ridiculous rigged theories ever but these people actually believe it.
