I have a Boss HM-2 that I ran into an Maxon OD808 and I must say that's probably teh most gnarly way to run those pedals. The fact that Airis, or anyone, made a pedal the combine the 2 has clearly done some tinkering and figured out that it also produced an incredible sound without being a bunch of flubby trash. Straight grinding! I'll say using the actual two pedals is going to yield a bit more crazy sounds than what we heard in this video because it's missing the low end grind that sounds like a massive stone door opening...

Airis built me an HM-2 clone that I still have. Richard is an AWESOME dude, and makes amazing pedals.

Great Demo Kyle! I absolutely love my Airis pedals! i have The Mids Screamer and the HM808 and they are my go to favourites on my pedal board, it was also a huge bonus that Airis Effects are Canadian just like me so the shipping was very fast!

Thanks for the demo and thanks to Airis for sponsoring this video. I'm going to work some overtime this weekend. Plan on buying all 3. I only use eq pedal and analogman ts9. These sound fricking killer. Have a great evening or day 😊❤

I have had quite afew Airis pedals and I have always liked them. I actually found the Parallel HM-2 EQ locally ages ago and snagged it up cheap. I ended up liking it as pre eq into a TS9. It was the absolute best combo. Then they released the HM808 and I grabbed that too. Such a great mix of sounds and unique. The Airis pedals I have kept are the Aggressive Screamer, Electric Dragon and the Parallel HM-2 EQ. If I see any locally I will always pick them up if I haven’t tried them. It gets pretty expensive buying new from Australia cause of shipping so when I have bought new I have grabbed 3 or so pedals. Definitely not cheap doing it that way also but they are made so well and sound great. Highly recommend Airis Effects 👌

How is the Electric Dragon? I know it's another TS, but I have the Savage Drive, Burger Booster(Carnage Drive), Danny Drivito(Ocelot Omega), and an HM808, would that be overlapping too much?

I have the Effigy of the Distortion. That pedal captures that early deathmetal tone amazingly. Probably my overall favorite VH140C clone, only because it nails Suffocation's (early days) dialed in tone the best.

The savage drive v 5.5 I have is insane. Takes a bit to dial it in because it can do so much but once you figure it out it’s the perfect boost.

I generally triple boost my amp on the clean channel with the gain pushed, and it's GNARLY. Joyo Uzi into TC Eyemaster into Turbo Rat with turbo on. The Rat is the only pedal in the chain with the gain above zero, though. Just the Uzi and the Rat is already high gain territory, and the Eyemaster obviously makes it chainsaw. I can also run that into an IR loader to FoH or into a PA head and directly into a cab. I run it in parallel with a Precision Drive boosted Orange Super Crush, because ABY pedal.

Kyle, I have to tip my hat to you. I’ve never bought a pedal I didn’t return. But your use of the Ibanez TS9 showed me something and I bought one and I love it. Nothing to do with these pedals but I’m pretty early lol

Great Demo, Kyle!!!! They all 3 sound great, but my only quibble is that it would have been nice to hear some lead lines to give an idea on how these would sound in that role. :)

I asked Airis not long ago if they ever planned on bringing back the Brutal Drive because I had been curious for awhile especially when comparing (for me) against the Savage Drive (had the v4 and v5) I was told the HM808 is actually the improved version of the Brutal Drive by Richard

Wow! Surprised you did a video on Airis just now! I got their Burger Booster(a Bobs Burgers housing edition of the Carnage Drive) and a V5 savage drive as well. Im looking at getting either the HM808, or his new pedal thats an HM2+RAT

hey Kyle, with the HM808 would u say ou can dial in a bit more low end that a standard TS would take out?Looking for a pedal that can do what a TS9 does but be able to dial back in a bit of the low end that was taken out on amps that dont have as much low end on tap but benefit from the mid clank and tightness of. a TS9.thanks

1400 to 2700 kHz, I don’t think that adjusting those kind of frequencies would make much difference to human ears. 😉 Joking aside, great demo! I’ve been searching for a pedal that combines a tone stack in HM-2 territory with a lower gain level that sounds really good, so the HM808 is right up my alley. 🙂 Cheers!

This is something you'll typically never get a straight answer for. The company itself has a number in mind, the KZbinr has a number in mind, and they work together to meet in the middle or one side will break and agree to the other's price. Some companies are extremely strict on what the influencer can and can't say about the product, others tell the influencer to say whatever they want (but obviously if the review is bad then they won't get approached by the company to do another video, so always make the decision yourself). Lastly they look at what kind of reach and following you have. If you're a no one in the community with 5 followers, you don't stand a chance. If you have thousands, you can get their attention. It's actually extremely cutthroat, and a lot of KZbinrs don't discuss what they've received as payment because of that.
