Douglas Trumball never directed another movie after Brainstorm (1983), the reason being the death of Natalie Wood halfway through filming in 1981, which delayed the film's completion and caused it to bomb in the box office. I believe he is quoted as saying that he believes she'd still be alive if he hadn't have casted her. This isn't even mentioning the lives of Natalie's friends and family affected by her death if that conjecture is true.

There’s no way Burke did this. Th DNA doesn’t match. He could not have left pubic hair on the blanket. The shoe prints were way too big and he had neither the physical strength nor the sexual knowledge to pull this off. JonBenet was brutally sexually assaulted and then slowly strangled with a very complicated bondage style garrote. The garrote was tightened and loosened around her neck as she struggled to get her fingers under the cord. She scratched her killer hard enough to get his skin under her fingernails. The head injury was done at some point during or even after the strangulation.
