For some reason, despite watching Seinfeld and MST3K it never occurred to me that this line came from Seinfeld. All they had to do was say that line in the most nebbish way possible although I don't know if Woody Allen would be amused or insulted by it.

Ranking the characters based on how well they delivered that line. Yes, I have way too much time on my hands. God-Tier: George. The way he says it sounds like a mix of "i'm eating these pretzels, they're making me thirsty, but I haven't had a drink in years so my mouth is as dry as the Sahara, help me, i can't take it anymore" and "oh god, my life has completely hit the skids, this isn't where i wanted to be in life, i'm completely unhappy and miserable". Combine that with his incredibly messy hair and you have a perfect recipe for comedy right there. Jason Alexander deserves a Lifetime Emmy award just for that. High-Tier: Kramer. The way Kramer delivers the line is pretty much perfect for that situation. He's sitting there with Woody Allen, eating those pretzels, but then that kick hits him. He needs a drink, and he needs one ASAP. Pair it with a little exhale before saying the line and it's perfect for the situation, like he's surprised that the pretzels had that effect on him. Mid-Tier: Elaine. I'm not trying to say Elaine's delivery of the line was bad, not at all, I love Elaine. I'm just saying it sounded a little like she didn't like the overall taste of the pretzels, not like they were making her thirsty. Like she took a bite of the pretzels, didn't really like the taste of them, then felt that overwhelming urge for a drink washing over her, but the disgust she felt in that moment greatly out-weighs the thirstiness. Low-Tier: Jerry. It just sounds like Jerry's reading the line off of a teleprompter, it doesn't sound natural at all. Again, i'm not criticising Jerry Seinfeld's acting, I'm sure it's gotten better since The Alternate Side, the episode this clip originates from, first aired in 1991, but holy shit, he's just full-on Lea Michele-ing it. It just sounds kinda forced and unnatural in my honest opinion. That's pretty much my ranking.
