When listening to these stations, do you often waken up with your head on the desk? Seriously. It can get very hypnotic. This phone set-up sounded fascinating and very intriguing and a lot of fun. I suppose if you're listening for something, you'll be more alert. Still, there must be the odd time you nod off, no? Cheers!

I love the hiding in plain sight concept. Consider a few software license agreements, which nobody actually reads, have contained offers within the terms, free license, cash, etc., simply for writing or sending an email. I also get a kick out of using KZbin for data backup. Not picking on Google specifically, but consider Drive storage is limited for free but KZbin is essentially limitless for free. So, convert data to video, like a giant ever changing QR code, upload.

It looked like just a featureless green background for one frame, then back to the phone for one frame, then the green background for three frames. If you're watching YT in a browser, pause the video and then use the ',' and '.' keys to step backwards and forwards, respectively, one frame at a time.

These kids have no clue. I remember when I was in middle school building myself a gaming computer. I had the new cdrom drive plugged in to motherboard, and was perplexed as to how to load the cdrom drivers from the provided driver disc when the computer didnt have drivers to run the cdrom in first place. Thats my initial exposure to computers, these kids now would literally stroke out if they came across that conundrum.

@@SocialistDistancing LOL, It seems a solid question and it is a funny name indeed. I was on the fringes of phreaking until I became friends with the famous phreak called Cap'n Crunch who turned out to be a bit of a freaky phreak who wanted to get his freak on. No freaking way. Not my cup of tea.

He's the inventor of the 'blue box' which gave out the 2600 Hz tone and allowed dialing with a different set of touch-tone digits to turn a regular caller into an international operator, enabling complete control of the phone switching network. With that tool he was able to crank call Richard Nixon in the White house which is a very good story! Two college kids called Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak got in touch with Crunch to learn how it was done and the short of it is that Apple Computer was founded with the funds from selling an HP calculator, a VW bus, and 50 blue boxes. Crunch (aka John Draper) I believe was Apple employee #12. He's now banned from hacking conventions for being freaky.
