Olive oil should not be used for high temperature cooking because it breaks down. Avocado oil works well for cooking.

Yes, they are probably worse because they are subject more subject to processing. Eat real butter, ghee, goose or duck fat. Avoid cooking with all plant based or seed oils

Please link citations for the claims here (hexane bioaccumulation, etc.) There are other data that would appear to be incorrect but citations might clear that up. When the overall claims are correct but the subclaims are false it gives the impression of a construct that is meant to be debunked by industrial food corporations' agents. That's the last thing we need.

When ever you mention Canola Oil you should state that Canola Oil is also known as Rapeseed Oil. Here in the UK we have never heard of Canola, because we call it Rapeseed. Your list does not therefore mention Rapeseed so people might think 'Rapeseed" oil is ok...

Thank you Dr C for this very useful video. Usually the seed oils are criticized for raising the bad Cholesterol (LDL) and Triglyceride levels. But you have exposed the seed oils for damaging the Nerves that leads to the Central & Peripheral Neuropathy as well as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. I appreciate you for this additional information related to the Nerve damage as the lipids of these oils are entering the brain, crossing the BBB (Blood Brain Barrier)!! These research findings are really eye opening. I don't know how seriously the common people, especially the lovers of fried food and oily recipes are going to take this!! The majority is actually slave to their taste buds & involved in the gratification of senses for which they are ready to suffer and even die...!! Surprisingly, they don't wake up until there is an alarming health issue or condition. The worst of all these oils is the Palmolin or Palm oil - manufactured in Indonesia and Malaysia and exported to many parts of the world. This is probably the cheapest oil. The edible oil marketers mix it with almost all varieties of other edible oils to maximize their profits, unless there is a stringent law in the country. The mixing cannot be detected by physical appearance. In India, the largest edible oil consuming nation perhaps worldwide, up to 15% mixing is permitted in other oils. But even if they mix it @1:1 ratio, i.e., 50%, detection is not possible unless if someone goes for the laboratory tests and analysis. ≈ Bio-scientist & Nutritional Researcher

This is very helpful; thank you. One thing I've been concerned about for years is the adulteration of oils. I've seen programs that investigated olive oil and found that many were not 100% pure, but rather had a high percentage of other oils mixed in. Sadly, this is one way by which our attempt to get healthy oils is subverted.

Olive oil oxidizes far less when it heats than other oils. It is a myth not to cook with it on high heat. The smoking is not the same as oxidization.

Thanks for this info. I’ve beefed hearing a lot about the benefits of healthy oils vs. the bad effects of highly processed seed oils. What I haven’t heard is, if it makes a difference if the seed oils are organic and minimally processed. Are they just as bad for you? If you could address this in a video it would be much appreciated. I’ve spent a few years converting my kitchen to the better for you oils and whole organic foods. I’d just like this info out of curiosity. Thanks in advance.

what about mustard seed oil
@visionsustainability54753 ай бұрын
Mustard Oil should be cold-pressed using wooden tools/system. Further, it is much better if the Organically grown Mustard seeds are used to extract the oil. However, the Mustard oil is banned in the USA for oral consumption. But in India, it is not banned. Alternatively, there are two useful edible oils, viz., Coconut Oil (better if Virgin Coconut), and Sesame seed oil extracted by the same process as mentioned above for the Mustard seed oil. ≈ Bio-scientist & Nutritional Researcher
