I mean I see your point but if I was one of the students I would hate every bit of this. He didn't kill, sure, but it doesn't erase the trauma of thinking the teacher killed a classmate and that your life is in genuine danger. Imagine if you were a transfer student who didn't know shit about the whole story but still had to get dragged in this. And the explosions didn't kill anyone, but they very well could've actually accidentally severely hurt one or more students. My point is, this is a wonderful and powerful piece of media, and the students ended up stronger for it, and all that - but in truth, realistically, this is bad. Even if the death part is fake, lies can hurt you mentally. Some of these students could have very well ended up traumatised.

This is such a meaningful movie, and I absolutely love this video. It shows all the effort a teacher would give their students just to let them see the brightest and deepest side of reality. Hiraji really gave everything to his students just to make sure they know what people have been doing to that one student and how much it made the student feel targeted. Hiraji is a amazing teacher and I would really feel grateful if he we're my teacher. He is amazing man and he deserves everyone's respect. I am asian, when I was in highschool, I had at least 6 teachers who looked our age. They were in their mid 20s while we were all around 18-19 Edit: I’m in collage now, a professor pulled a prank in one of their classes where they pretended to be a student waiting for the teacher to come in when the bell rings. I feel like this situation would have been too hard to control as a single teacher vs 30 students. Replacing the windows and bombing the hallways to lock the students inside was a good choice, but I would have removed myself from the situation entirely and only interacted with the students through cameras and speakers. Way too many opportunities for the students to overpower the teacher through numbers and brute force. Teacher will still need to sleep and take a shit eventually so his martial arts skills won't protect him forever.
