These Talent Cell 12V Batteries are not Really 12V Batteries

Did you know that many power banks sold as 12V actually do not output 12V once a load is applied? Yes, the DC output will almost instantly drop below 12V as a load is applied. The voltage on 3 different Talent Cell power banks I tested dropped below 11V after only 30% of the rated capacity was used and continued to drop below 10.5V with over 35% of the rated capacity remaining. Find out why the design for these so called 12V power banks from Talent Cell and other manufacturers does not actually match the typical 12V battery discharge curve. Nice analysis. I know my eq6r shuts down when Voltage drops below 12 and I have camera issues as well.

Good input to share with others. Lots of equipment works just fine, at least for some of the capacity. But others won't.

Thank you. You can still get a Talentcell, just make sure you get one with LiFePO4. And be aware that some of the other power bank manufacturers that I have seen use the same 3S designs. So check carefully before you buy.

Thanks for the video. I have a 3 cell TalentCell ( yb12011000usb) and I've noticed a variable slew sound coming from my CPC go to mount after a few hours which I wondered if the battery was low on volts...... Anyway I noticed your latest post to your CN topic about the LF4106 and comparing to the LF4100, I see a76.8 Wh vs 83.2Wh for the LF4100. Is the LED display in the 4106 more advantagous than the LED 'dots' on the 4100? I ask b/c the TalentCell I have now is 11,000 mAh vs 6,000 for these. Thanks

Low voltage could be the issue with your mount. Unfortunately TalentCell's LiFePO4 power banks don't come in capacities larger than 6.5Ah. If you need a little more capacity than this they have this a 12Ah LiFePO4 battery which comes in a traditional battery form factor amzn.to/470dIc1. It doesn't have the convenient dc port but will provide more capacity at 12V than your 11Ah version. As for the LCD display I am not sure it will be more telling than the 4 lights given the fact that the voltage drop on a LIFePO4 battery is very gradual so it is hard to tell how much capacity is left until it is about 90% depleted. You could put a power meter in line like this one amzn.to/3McW4tw but you would have to make some adapter cables or buy ones like this for either end of the power meter amzn.to/3sbehRs.
