There's a general opinion amongst friends that the Black Friday deals are a complete con. The prices are inflated before Black Friday, then reduced to show a "saving".

Black Friday has been slowly degraded more and more over the years. It was always a day to benefit companies, but it would benefit the consumer as well. Today it just benefits companies. Shady practices aside, the deals themselves just aren't as good. They've realized they only need 10-15% "discounts" and people will still spend money all the same
