THESE UPGRADES WILL CHANGE YOUR BIKE!

I haven't ridden my enduro bike for the longest time and I thought it was about time I made some changes to it to help me with my bike skills. I switched the coil shock for an air shock. I changed the 29 inch back wheel to a 27.5 inch and cut the bars down from 800mm to 780mm. Hopefully these changes will improve my jumping skills and help me get more speed down the track!

Back to a non ebike is going to be a bit of a shock to the system for you! Lol. Looking forward to seeing some Spanish trails though. 800mm bars are mad for someone your height though! I'm 5' 11" and I run 780mm bars.

Props for doing your own maintenance! Changing tyres sucks but it does get easier with practice and learning a few tricks. I wonder if you would have gotten on with the coil shock with the appropriate spring for your weight. I've had no trouble jumping with a coil. For future reference, ideally brake levers should be loose enough to rotate in a crash to avoid damaging them. If you tightened them enough to snap the tool, not only will they not rotate but you may have weakened the bar. You may find it bends at that point when you next crash. You should ideally use a torque wrench for suspension bolts (and indeed most other bolts) so that everything moves properly and to avoid premature wear or damage. All else being equal, you'd want less pressure than your ebike because the ebike is heavier. But all else isn't equal - different models of bike and shock will need different setups. So forget what pressures you use elsewhere and set the sag instead (you can look up instructions for that, but I'm sure Tom knows). Happy tinkering!
