Lawrence is an eight-piece band (with a three-piece horn section) fronted by Clyde and Gracie Lawrence.

Welcome to the family business! They just kicked off a global headline tour. Not sure where you are, but they are a fantastic live band. I'd also just tell you what everyone else is saying. Take a breather and start reacting to a bunch of their acoustic-ish songs. Can't go wrong with Lawrence!

I'm so happy you loved this, DJ! I have my friend Fabian to thank for introducing me to Lawrence. I've sent him the link so I'm sure he'll be watching when he wakes up. To answer a couple of questions, Lawrence is the name of the band. They're officially an 8 piece (they had a couple extra people in this video). Gracie and Clyde formed the band and they're siblings.

Now down a similar genre vein to Lawrence is Sammy Rae & The Friends. Sammy is their lead vocalist, but they are also a large ensemble group that incorporate brass and keys and all kinds of fun energy

time to go down the Lawrence rabbit hole! all of their "acoustic-ish" videos go insanely HARD, just like this one! my recommendations: "23 acoustic-ish", "Guy I Used to Be acoustic-ish", "I'm Confident I'm Insecure acoustic-ish" and "The Weather acoustic". their studio and full-band live recordings are really good too, but these live acoustic videos really do a great job showcasing their vocal and instrumental talents.

“Sir you have made an error”. Bless your heart. I love your reaction! Thanks for sharing. You should see them live. It will blow your mind. Lolz

also to answer your question - Lawrence is a brother/sister duo. They actually had their youngest brother Linus up there too on background vocals. Jordan (the guy that did the low note) is a sax player in their full band (they have a great horn section that plays with them live)

Wow! What an awesome surprise this was. Mel, you did GOOD! Thank you.

There's one teenager in that room. Linus Lawrence (one of the background singers). Gracie Lawrence, the main singer, was like 25, I think when this was recorded (she's 27 now). Clyde Lawrence, the keyboardist, is 2 years older than her. The other main band members are around Clyde's age. The background singers are all in their 20s and 30s.

I have PTSD, and I don't tell people around me. But this is like my little chant through it. This shit is gonna kill me, but I won't let it.

Clyde & Gracie are siblings. The backup singers aren’t part of their regular band, they are friends from the NY indie music scene. Linus is their little brother.

Clyde did so amazing with this piece. He does most of the arrangements, and you can tell he really knows each instrument/vocals and how many he needs. He also gives each person a spotlight, which is so cool!

Great reaction! Lawrence is the best and they deserve all the attention they can get! Definitely check out their new album "Family Business" and all of their other acoustic version videos, they never miss!

Lawrence is absolutely amazing. Check out all their acoustic versions of their songs...they are going to be huge (and are pretty big now - touring as opening act to some big names now). Some to consider- Confident Im insecure, 23, the weather, guy I used to be, and more. Its a great rabbit hole to go down for sure. Loved your reaction - thank you (and thanks to Melancholie for this suggestion!). Some answers below on the band from others- but yeah siblings and their youngest brother joins sometimes on these (linus) in background. Those other singers are all amazing on their own and they do bring on some of the same but various others too. The band itself has a set group which includes the horns and a few others.

Welp-other than hit radio, in the music fandom they're pretty massive. You don't open for The Rolling Stones if you're not loved. They had multiple sold out shows at the O2 and were waiting to see their sold out show here in Flordia.

great reaction! enjoyed your analysis and you were very good at explaining what you were enjoying about it. Strongly would recommend their 23 acousticish as well as the one for Guy I used to Be. The first is more Gracie centric, the second will make you a Clyde fan too :)

I saw them live in London on Friday and they were brilliant. The full band are great - check out their Jam in the Van session. They made 2,000 people just as happy and energised as the singers in this video, plus we had their friend Jacob Collier do a few songs with them. The backing singers and other musicians are also worth digging deeper into. Try Veronica singing Harvest Moon with her band Melt.

Welcome to the Family Business! :) Gracie and Clyde are siblings and started the band. The other singers and the instrumentalists are made up of their childhood friends (one in this video being from the band Couch which is another amazing band you should totally check out along with Sammy Rae and the Friends) and their little brother, Linus (the youngest looking one on the left). They've put out 4 studio albums and this newest album, Family Business, is sooo good, i'd highly recommend. If you like the funky, make you dance in your seat vibes, I think Hip Replacement off this newest album is gonna put the biggest smile on your face!

OK, so to clear a few things up they are in their mid 20s and a lot of the people that are background singers actually commonly performed with them when they do these acoustic sessions. They're like the band Chicago mixed with gospel soul. Also, I don't think anybody mentioned this, but they've been doing this for a long while they were a party band for colleges.

Anybody who appreciates Lawrence as much as you do, and references Thirsty Merc, must be a pretty cool guy. I think Rai Thistlethwayte is brilliant.
