The map I am developing is based on Bosnia during the turn of the century 99' 00' when NATO still had a huge presence in the country. Weapons like the 249 and 240 will be vanilla to the map, obviously they would be extremely rare to find.

Whom ever told you the SAW is ONLY belt fed lied to you mate. I served 9yrs in the U.S. Army, M249s are designed to utilize M16/M4 magazines as a backup way to use them in the event a soldier doesn’t have time to properly load a belt-fed box mag. The belt-feed loading an unloading animations are awesome, but it should also accept all M16/M4 mags and the built-in bipod legs should unfold and be usable whilst prone unsupported or using any flat surface to perch on.

We absolutely need all of these old weapons added back into the game, including all of the attachments aswell and even more attachments for weapons. Imo the devs really need to expand on the customization side of firearms, it can really help in long-term survival adventures just to give you another goal rather then just run around and kill people.

They should consider adding the DP-28 russian WWII MG. It has no option for mounting scopes, it fits the game context and mags would be a pain in the a$$ to carry (3x3). Hard recoil and rarity to balance it

Marks, I would be happy if you send these to them (you are now on that team too) -They should remove m16 and famas from the game. We didn't like it even though they removed the sight of famas. Rate fire etc. doesn't matter. It takes up unnecessary magazine and loot space on the server. -Things I wish to be added: SIG 551 ,HK33 ,HK G3 > Adding a special scope and mount for HK's may be considered. For Sig ; Variants with rails on the upper receiver for m4 optics available. -The Mini-14 is also a conceivable assault weapon. -Remove the 357 magnum for lever action. It can become a more preferable weapon when you make it 30-30 caliber and strengthen it. Let's have another weapon that can be moved a little further to the middle of the map. -A semi-automatic shotgun developed from the Beretta or Benelli models(hunting models maybe) would be good. Reloading without a magazine would make it an important weapon in the game.

To be fair, the military teaches people to fire in controlled bursts. Unless a MG is mounted, you don’t fire long bursts due to the recoil.

Even mounted you still never go full auto 6 round bursts “die motherfucker die” the time it takes to say that is how long ur burst is. You fire in bursts to keep your barrel from overheating and to maintain ammo

SAW has bipod and every rifle team has a SAW gunner, you are correct however you either shoot sustained, rapid or cyclic however barrel changes will play a role. the SAW is special because it only requires 1 PAX to complete its job.no gun team needed.

I was a SAW gunner when I was a younger man. The trick is 3-5 round bursts. You can see how much it creeps, but if you just keep it to small, rapid bursts, it's easier to keep on target. And it looks like they've mimicked that in this mod.

Barrel changes are only done if the barrel overheats, like when shooting 200 rounds in a minute You usually have 2 barrels that last about 10000 rounds each, you swap them every time you do heavy suppressive fire, you use one while the other cools down, then after it's cooled down you use it again and wait for the previous one to cool down and so on... In dayz you wouldn't realistically need to fire thousands of rounds (you couldn't even find them lol) like you're in a warzone fighting dozens of enemies So this feature wouldn't really be needed or useful in dayz

Another idea of weapons I'd love to see is the Thompson 45 SMG with stick mags (20 to 30 rounds) even drum mags and PPSH41 and 43's with few mag choices as those WW2 era weapons would make sense in an Eastern european setting in a place rife with civil wars like Serbia and Croatia in the 1990's.

You could definitely load one round at a time into the saw. Just like he did in the animation. Lift the feed tray and place a round in the chamber. Hope friction keeps it in because it’s an open bolt gun but if you pull the trigger it would shoot. Not sure if you might get issues at some point with pierced primers but it should work.

Unlimited strength there, but somehow sitting still while carrying stuff makes you out of breath quickly... As a M249 gunner in the US army I can tell that you can in fact load single rounds, but not by showing them into the chamber. rather by placing individual rounds on the feed tray. And recoil looks way worse then in real life, due to its hefty weight recoil isn't bad. mine did jam a lot though.

An M249 that takes stanags like the real ones would be awesome! :) There is always SNAFU, which are far more realistic and extensive than you will ever really need. Suppressors that require "cleaning" after a few dozen rounds or they are "ruined", why even? The in-game weapons are more or less meh.

Game in my opinion has enough guns. What we would need are bigger variety of scopes and perhaps even foregrips attachable to the rail handguards of the ak/m4. You should also be able to craft an improvised suppressor out of a metal can which makes sway really bad but has improved durability. And the one last thing that I want the most are the return of *SPRAY CANS!*

m249 would be so op, especially with the tripod, it would simply demolish everyone, definitely not for vanilla groza/shorty-shotgun would be really nice 1887 shotgun feels weird and silly, to be honest p90 is also nice, but only with some additional scopes, but still not for vanilla h&k mp7 is definitely not for vanilla, differs too much from the natural dayz weapons (even though I hate these soviet guns)
