Meanwhile in Montana, it was an incredibly cold and wet spring...until it wasn't. Went from 45 degrees to 85 in 4 days and sent my plants that hadn't drowned into utter shock. I'm currently eating a bolted spinach and broccoli salad (again). This has been a weird year. Let's all march forward and make the best of it!

I have to say that I am so impressed by your family and your children. At times I am nearly brought to tears with the joy I get from seeing how you are raising them. How involved they are. You are amazing parents and such incredibly hard workers. I love watching your channel and especially seeing the videos where you show what you are harvesting and cooking in a day. I have a very small homestead (only 1.5 acres) and compared to you I am an utter failure in the worker department. You are an inspiration. Keep it up!!! And Thank you for sharing your life and family with us.

I'm an American living in Germany with my German husband. When we started watching your videos, I said, "They seem like a sweet homeschooling Christian family." The sweet kids and the spirit both you and your husband give off say it. Then later I heard you mention homeschooling and then another video of praying at the table (which might be Christian or Mormon or similar, no idea). I was homeschooled half of my childhood so I recognize and honor that. God bless you all! ❤

Next season use the line that flooded to grow your celery. It likes damp soil. I live in a tropical climate and in order to grow celery here I plant them in a big store plastic tub that I drill holes to. I put that inside a kiddie pool or a bigger plastic tub I keep full of water. It does miracles for my celery

As always, your video made my day. I love your experimental spirit in the garden, Becky, and so happy to see success after the rough start with your tomatoes. The kids are incredible. It’s fun to see so much of you and Cameron, not only in their appearance, but in their demeanor. Some so serious, and, as others have mentioned, Kian is such a character. I spent my morning canning dill pickles in a recipe from ATK’s Foolproof Preserving that you recommended a long time ago. I used your recommendation of subbing 5% white distilled vinegar for the apple cider vinegar and I’m excited to see how they turn out. The low temperature pasteurization for pickles was new to me. Thanks.

This is the kind of life I want to live too. I had digestive issues too and have an allotment. Needed to completely clear my diet to get better, but now I do not eat any processed food and try to grow whatever I can, and the rest I will buy organic. But I wish I had so much space like you to grow that much food. Looks amazing and so much hard work you put in it.

For the trap you could put a small bowl upside down in a little bigger bowl and fill the bigger bowl up with water and put bait on upside down bowl . If you wanted cut cage and mount bowl to cage and partially bury bowl in ground so don’t spill or move around and even provides water for rabbit till it’s relocated or harvested.

For cabbage worms, try Bt (bacillus thuringiensis). The organic farmers use it regularly and it is extremely effective. Saves days of picking worms and/or losing your crops. 😉

What we used to do for rabbits was to stake down cheese cloth loosely enough to catch their claws and remove them as we noticed them. I have never seen any other trap that was more effective. It works on squirrels also. Apple cider is probably the best bait for rabbits, the problem is a lot of herbivores are attracted to anything apple. It doesn't seem like a big problem. . . yet. Thanks for the video.

I appreciate how honest you are about the results of your experiments. So many things sound good but don't work when we try them. It's been a really rough year for gardens. Squirrels and chipmunks have ravaged mine. I wish I could give you advice about controlling rabbits, but I'm clearly no expert on managing pests! Good luck the rest of the way, and thanks for the tours!

Very interesting to hear about all your experiments, successes and and let's saying learning experiences. Glad to hear your tomatoes are coming along. I had a similar problem this year with all the rain but they are now thriving. You are absolutely right that saving your own seeds improves the results as long as you save from the best plants. With regards to cabbage worms wasp and or hornets will pick them off once they learn where the cabbages are. Thanks for the videos. Thumbs up and a sub from a gardener for 50 years..

We have the best luck catching rabbits by putting the trap right in front of the hole they are coming though. We find the trampled grass from them coming and going through a certain hole and set the trap right in front of it--we don't even use bait at all.
