I love Heikin Ashi candles because they eliminate the noise that conventional candles show. No wicks at the bottom of a bullish candle equals a strong trend to the upside. No wicks at the top of a bear candle equals a strong trend to the downside. Dojis equal a weakening of the trend or a consolidation period. Very clean.

As usual, this video is extremely helpful and accurate. I have added few tricks to it , for Forex scalping on ctrader platform I use a 2 pips or 5 pips range chart , put the Heikin Ashi and the Ichimoku cloud , for the RSI i put a 7 period and move the 30 and 70 lines to 20 and 80 an d still got the ADX line for volatility

Always loved the concept of Heikin Ashi and its simplicity. However any automated trading strategies I've tried with HA Candles failed until I realized that HA price is not actually the real price of the asset but a "smoothed" and lagging version. For instance, as candles turn from red to green in the HA, oftentimes in the "true" OHLC candle the price has moved A LOT, so that as a trader you're already "quite late". Whats your thought on this? Great videos!

True traders don't use Heikin Ashi. You'll train wrong and you'll miss massive opportunies.

if you're too late on the 1st candle it is not an up or down trend. I'd wait for the second candle or wick breaking above or below the trend line or support/resistance.

Exactly, it all looks great in hindsight but both the Heikin Ashi and Ichimouku cloud are very very very very very lagging indicators. For true price action, I think nothing beats the Range bars.

The RCI is more trend catching than the RSI. When RCI (9.10), RCI (13.14), and RCI (36.38) are displayed on the same screen (with different colors), the short-term RCI shows the entry timing and the medium-term RCI shows the direction of the trend. Strongest when combined with HEIKENASHI.

I have a question. If you look at 5:29 into the video, you can see where you put the orange dots on the centerline. However price had already rallied and most of the profits would not have been taken. Look at the enter dot at the same time frame, the move was over and three red candles appeared which would have been a losing trade or BE at best. The 4th dot broke the 50 on the way up but I didn't see any "LONG green candles to enter but if I had and then exited when the last dot broke below the center line (maybe it didn't as I can see it behind the dot), it would have been another losing trade. The last dot at 5:29 would be a winner trade so far. I know you understand this and know what you are doing. What am I missing?

I will try this out. I didn't like the standard candles. There are too many patterns. It's confusing and it takes alot of time to read them. HeikenAshi, with the smooth out candles, is much easier to read. Hope I can up my game with that.
