Here on the fringes of the city, the jungle harbours fascinating species, including many that have never been filmed before. The star of the show is the Raffles’ banded langur, one of the least-known primates on the planet. Found only in Singapore and Malaysia, there are only a few hundred left and around 60 have made a home in Singapore's rainforests. A troop of nine live high in the canopy where their babies learn to climb and discover all there is to know about their jungle home. Below them, a fascinating cast of creatures carve out a life in this multi-layered forest world. Ambush hunting scorpions, flying dragons escaping from murderous jaws, a nest of weaving ants with their own farm, and one of the world's tiniest hoofed animals - the mouse-deer. This is a journey to discover the fascinating residents that thrive here.

Many thanks to Sir David and his talented colleagues for bringing us yet another video. Everything about this project shows that nature can coexist in an urban environment when people carefully consider the needs of the creatures that they will share the space with and provide them. Singaporeans should be very proud of what they have accomplished and for showing others that it can be done.

Does David Atternborough really know what bugs and lizards, monkeys and fish are really thinking, or is he just guessing? I worked in British pubs for a lot of years and you get an instinct, but it's a difficult call.

Well, of course there's a lot of research behind the narration then added creativity on the script. The result is this amazing story telling that he only can produce. They call it the David Atternborough effect.

"800 mililitres can splash down in a few hours." Over what area? I suspect that more than that falls in the Northern hemisphere. That is just about like saying that string might be red, or blue, or neither. It means nothing without a context. Dave, up-your-game!

That's how rainfall is measured in the civilised world; mm/ml. Everybody (not schooled in the US) knows that 1mm of rainfall is equivalent to 1 cubic litre of water per square metre. I mean... you could have just googled it before assuming David Attenborough doesn't know what he's talking about...... 800 mm is a huge amount of rain; significantly more than the city of Melbourne, Australia gets in a year.
