Lion Release - Lions on the Move 2/2 - Go Wild

At Dinokeng, there’s another surprise in store. One of the wild nomadic male lions has been fighting with an established pride. Although battle-scarred, he has survived, while his brother has been killed. With lion numbers dwindling in the wild, Kevin and the team of conservationists decide to step in. The lion is brought into one of the empty enclosures to recuperate in peace and quiet. Later, he will be radio-collared and re-released away from the established pride’s territory.
Weeks away from the move, the permits are turned down. When they are eventually granted, moving the animals presents the next major challenge. Being able to understand the individual characteristics of his animals will be key to moving them safely. But a few of them are not that keen on climbing into the specially adapted van. Can the reluctant lions and hyenas be persuaded to join in on the move?

Just a heads up for everyone this is an old video. The reason why he moved and started his own sanctuary is because he found out that the park he was previously at was raising lions to be trophy hunted. He managed to rescue and move them successfully into his sanctuary where they reside today. Kevin has a youtube channel called “The lion whisperer” where you can see them.

He's had his own sanctuary for a long time now. He got more land for the lions and other animals so he moved them. Kevin has had his own sanctuary for I Think 20 years now. This isn't new but that's not why he moved them. When he was in his 20s he worked for someone else and then found Meg and Amy he raised. He took them with him to his own sanctuary. There's video of him very young on his channel.

CONGRATULATIONS on a very well planned and executed move, I know there were a few setbacks but the team dealt with them swiftly and efficiently and the animals all coped really well. A shame about the injuries to the hyenas but as explained it was a hyenas way of dealing with upset. So pleased these assorted beautiful wild animals can now lead a natural life, in a wonderful area but I do hope Kevin and his colleague that looked after the lions, will be visiting regularly to keep the fantastic relationship they have with them alive. Loved these two videos and hope to see more !!

Aah how absolutely awesome, amazing & outstanding!! Im in AWE, was completely speechless for several mins while im watching this not so big guy playing & tussling around on the ground with each of his Lions & that sight almost very nearly brings me to tears coz the intimacy levels of these relationships between him (owner) & his wonderful Powerful Prides of both sexes & each of small group of 3+ full grown Males, they’re all so laid back, completely at ease with their owner(dad), not a hint of uncertainty or unease, all quite content just lazing around & laid across & over one anothers body parts, reassurance & comfort in the constant touch between each cat & their owner is so special!! Makes me all over emotional just watching the worlds biggest cat have a game of catch & fetch with a piece of fur, im like a green eyed monster sat here, i wanna be there, looking after those big cats & his hyena clans! Wot a perfect fulfilling job/lifestyle to have! Wish i was there so bad! This gentleman really is a gentleman, his heart must be gargantuan to be able to love & care for such massively demanding pets such as these right here!!! Beautiful!! ❤ Well done matey, u keep doing wot ur doing & hopefully ur kindness will influence the younger generation of humans to look after such big, beautiful & wild animals like these precious Lions! With each lion placed in a reservation park such as this here, ensures the survival of 1 of Mother Natures best creations of life! Therefore influencing many youngsters all over the world to take PRIDE in looking after Mother Natures Animals to help keep numbers increasing up out of the extinction danger zone! Lets follow in this good samaritans footsteps, his wisdom & knowledge about these wonderful animals & the habitats they call home is absolutely 1,000,000% PRICELESS! There needs to be more people like him out there doing the very same thing as he is to protect those species ultimately facing the extinction danger zone!! Lets keep his message going! This is the place before their present one. No doubt this is a very2 old video. They are at dana king close to ten years if I'm not mistaken. The kingdom was a nice place but this one has everything especially acreage, they have all the roaming space they need not to mention when they go for their enrichment walk where they go to areas that other wild animals pass through. Thus the excitement when the get a new fresh dung.

Not sad. They are cared for and get loads enrichment. Go to his you tube page and watch it, its call lion whisperer tv.. It may not be ideal to you, but it is a very good life for them not stuck in a small pen day after day. What is sad is the many big cats kept in people's backyards basically by selfish individuals who just wanted a big cat. Or the canned lion hunting industry where lions are bred specifically for rich assholes to hunt.
