Go Wild

Күн бұрын

Few places in the world are so little-known as the impenetrable jungles of the Congo. Deep in the jungle, the stories of explorers, journalists, scientists, and missionaries, stories that seem to spring from fevers and the imagination, gradually take shape. The legends come alive when the Baaka Pygmies guide our cameras into the lush vegetation to show us the reality behind the myths. Genocidal kings, living dinosaurs, peaceful giants, demonic killers… the spirits of the jungle are backed by rational explanations with scientific and historical analysis. Although such analysis may reveal that the reality is much more terrible than the fantasy of the legends

Yeah it is sad, and I LOVE animals and nature, but ultimately we are on #teamppl. So when I initially got those same feelings I then thought, but these people there have to survive too. #Higherprimates

Congo is a resource-rich country..why the government did not develop it in a sustainable manner?..its forest n mineral resources should be exploited for the sake of development of people's of Congo..not to enrich the pockets of corrupt political leaders..while maintaining its forest n wild animals in a sustainable manner. Don't let it be depleted as what had happened in SouthEast Asian countries such as Malaysia n Indonesia.

Most claims about China are false; meant to acclimate us into accepting our gov's bellicose attitude towards China. But the absolute NONSENSE of _ancient tineese medicine_ that demands murdering endangered species is infuriating. Elephants, TIGERS, Rhinos ... always parts requiring they kill them ... & always for absolute pseudoscience BULLSHIT.

It's "Gorilla". "Guerilla" is the diminutive of the Spanish word "Guerra" = "War". The word Gorilla comes from the Greek word "Γόριλλαι" ("Górillai"), which means something like "tribe of hairy women"
@TedH71
@TedH71 Жыл бұрын
The reason the bonobos are peaceful is due to the nature of their food. They do not face food scarcity. Chimps on the other hand do live in lands that have food scarcity and some even are able to live in the desert. So chimps had to fight to keep their lands where they know all the food sources. Also gorillas in the wild are known to eat from 300 different kinds of plants. The mountain gorilla has never been able to be kept in captivity because they do not eat the zoo made foods. The other kind of gorilla can but the males frequently don't live long compared to the wild male gorillas due to some lacking foods in their diet. Seems that they develop severe heart disease and die from it early. If early, I meant in their 30s when they can survive to 50-60 years old in the wild. As for the mokle memebe...people have gone out to search for it numerous times but have been pushed back by the Congo. Some day someone will actually get physical and camera proof.
@trumanhw
@trumanhw 3 ай бұрын
But that's not a great explanation either, bc over adequate time periods, adequate food usually means an increase in population until the carrying capacity creates scarcity which is then mediated by psychology and ultimately, hormones: The molecular messengers of behavior. Which mediate individual behavior and societal trends. Maybe there's some reproductive rate limiting in bonobos assoc with matriarchy. I'm skeptical about the diet based explanation for Gorilla-morbidity bc its an _ad ignorantum_ explanation: as in., _we don't know what's missing therefore something is missing._ Zoos are usually very eager to satiate any health requirements ... and tremendous efforts of blood work have been done of both populations to look for indices. I'm not disagreeing with you on this claim, I'm just skeptical. Mokele-mbembe: Okay, now we're into pure BigFoot territory. So I'm sure you're right, that despite any skeletal evidence, an entire population of procreating species is able to find each other, reproduce, live and die ... just ... without any evidence. Oh, but they're out there.

Gorillas are the most AMAZING animals! Look into their eyes and see the Intelligence. Their stature is amazing full of muscles and health! Also, the elephant babies are ADORABLE, with those Gorgeous little faces! I cannot wait until the MILLENIUM, when the lion will lay down with the lamb, where all the furiousness will no longer be against other animals or humans, when I can play and love on all animals, when they will love the attention we will give them! When the LORD returns, this devastation of our lands will not be allowed, nor will there no longer be Inbreeding of animals. The LORD says, " Do not cross breed animals"! We as occupants of this world we call earth" home" need to start doing something to save the gorillas the elephants, and all the other animals who are severely endangered, if we dont we will look back on them as we do the dinosaurs and wish we had. @@maxklymenchenko8421 are you Ukrainian, solidarity. Meat is protein and that can be had through nuts and grains. So disagree with the notion that we need meat. How do mountain gorillas survive? We share 98 percent DNA 🧬🍄 why aren't vegan and vegetarian dying? Because they're healthier. I still eat fish 🐟 shrimp and cheese 🧀 and maybe one day I will stop. Ehtical reason also plays a factor. Respect for solidarity 🙏. Gorillas also have stomach that's significantly bigger than ours to process all that greenery and eat 80% of their waking time. Also we have canines which aren't dull. I don't disagree with ethical reasons, I only disagree that we can thrive without animal protein. Moreover, I wholeheartedly agree that industrial farming is fucked. However, unfortunately our biology requires at least eggs or even insects (barring supplements, etc) to function normally.
