Hi I'm Theo.
I play bass, often poorly. I love effects and started this channel as a way to document what I've owned.
On this channel we look at bass effects pedals, Bass VI, pedal combinations and getting specific tones.

Horrothia just released a Mk2 version. Breath switch turned into a knob, and 9-18V operation.

@TheoAndHisPedals-Red I got #5 of the v2 used for $240. Breath is a knob I stead of a switch now. I think that's the only difference.

Hi Theo. I see you on Talkbass and always look forward to your input. This pedal sounds great, I had never heard of it. This is what I've wanted to hear in a lower gain overdrive. I'm seriously considering buying one. I was thinking about buying a CAL Grizzly again, I miss it and sold it to fund a Free the Tone Bass Blaster, a great pedal by the way, I might be buying this instead. Congratulations on your channel, I really enjoy it and you provide valuable information to us Bassists. There is a brand out of Greece, DPFX and they're putting out some good product at good prices. The pedals are handmade, and hand painted. I ordered an Echidna overdrive and it's on its way. I've only heard videos of it and another of their bass pedals, but they sound really good.

Thanks Patrick! I think i've heard of DPFX before, if i'm not mistaken my pal The Wetter Bass has covered some of their pedals on their channel. I'll check them out. (Also, Free The Tone always get alot of love from their bass pedals, like the Black Vehicle, if i find one at a good price in the UK, ill snap it up). Let me know how you like the Echidna. I like the Teeth, its interesting and different to alot of other overdrives I've tried, however i've not really bonded with it. No fault of the pedal, I just think I enjoy dirtier tones more. Having said that, the Grizzly is great, i had one for a while (and a Holy Fire after that). There are only a few recommendations i'd give for a truly transparent overdrive and the Grizzy is one (Spaceman Saturn VI is another). Talkbass is where all this started for me, when i joined i didnt really know what was out there for bass players as most local guitar shops only really carried EHX and Boss (this is going back maybe 15 years!) but Talkbass opened my eyes.....and my wallet, my bank balance has never been the same again. After years of buying, selling and sometimes re-buying pedals (as well as needing a distraction from noisy neighbours in the evening) I thought it best to actually start documenting the pedals i was getting.

This is really quite a nice sounding piece. I do wonder if that style of button would hold up as a stomp switch, though... what are your thoughts?

I think it would. I never had any issues with it. I wonder if the button itself is just a cover for some sort of soft relay switch, so the actual "hard work" isnt being done by a plastic button.

Yes, in fact, the bass I use (Squier Classic Vibe 70's Precision Bassis tuned BEAD so its the lowest strings from a 5-string set!). Because the Teeth is quite focused and tight sounding (with the clean blend helping with the low end retention), it doesnt get mushy on the low notes.
