I remember singing this beautiful hymn in church as a teenager...it didn't mean as much to me then...as it does now at the age of 60...I have been homeless., hungry, helpless and hopeless...and even today....no matter the trial...I STILL would rather have Jesus. My husband often speaks about how his mother (Leora) would sit him and his siblings down and read to them the different Bible stories, giving them a strong foundation of who Jesus was/is.
