This was exactly the type of video I was looking for, thank you so much for making this!! I adore my boardwalks but I see so many people wearing moxis so I was wondering if it would really be worth the switch for me. It was nice to hear comparisons from someone else who loves their sure-grips, and after listening to all your points I think I will stay with my boardwalks- I just love the ankle support and thickness and extra grip of the wheels. Thanks for helping me make my decision!

Thanks for the review. The Riedell Zones/135 boots are basically the same as the Lolly’s except the only come in Black and Tan. A lot of people get the tan color and dye it if they want another color. Also the black color is a “D” width and better for slightly wider feet. Not comfortable at all- however definitely more sturdy. But she has to wear moleskin with her skates or else it rubs on her skin! I also hear the width of your feet should determine what one you pick out of the two :)

I know I may saying something most people know, but new skater may not know that all skates can be used indoors and outdoors. The thing that matters the wheels on your skate harder are better for indoors and softer wheels are better for outdoors trail skating. For park skating hybrid or trick wheels are ideal. Also get toe grards for your skates it helps stay in good shape longer.

Hi Amber, you have a lot of comments on this video, but I still wanted to say thank you for posting it. I’ve watched a few times since owning both Sure-Grips and Lollies. I sold the Lollies, and held on to the Sure-Grips. I have a pair of Chuffed Wanderers too, which I also love for the boot (padding and roomier toe box) and plates. The Boardwalks are comfortable around the foot and I love the 65mm gummies and lower heel drop. I added a Sunlite plate and Roll Line toe stops. I just feel more confident in them than in the Moxis. I do court sessions and skate on trails and streets and I simply move differently in them. I just ordered another pair because I think they’re beautiful skates too. I hope you kept them! 😉

Huh, the boardwalks at least some models (I'm currently looking at the Retro 65mm) seem to come with 75A wheels, that'll do it. I feel like getting those just for that reason as I'm skating on 78As now which are great, but I don't remember seeing anything softer than 78A when I was shopping for separate outdoor wheels. The ankle support is good to know though as I've sustained an ankle injury since my rink rat days as a kid, and I love how stiff my first pair is there. Makes such a big difference in my confidence. Thanks for the rundown!

I got my Lollies today and took them out! I had the sure grip boardwalk wheels on my other skates. I noticed the same thing you are talking about!!!! And here I am on youtube trying to see if it was just me. Because I was thinking while skating, I wanted to switch to my boardwalk wheels. I noticed mine were slippery on the out kick near the toe. Almost like they skip or skid or jump. I do think that the stock wheels are quieter than the boardwalks on trails. However the stock wheels hit a twig and I stumbled a couple times or went on a rough part of the road and I felt like I was going to topple forward. whereas with the boardwalk I did t notice that being the case. Okay, Im switching mine. And no, its not just you!

(I have narrow feet and I do own a pair of Sure Grip Fame skates which are really wide for my feet, so I'm thinking of getting a pair of Moxi Lolly skates.) My other question is, would you be able to tell me how many centimeters long is the insole in your size 6 Moxi Lollies, please?

Do you have Boardwalk stock hard cushions? I always change the cushions to softer ones, but going down hill maybe the harder cushions are better and maybe that's why you feel more stable in the Boardwalks? I agree about the Boardwalk stiffness on top.

These specs are not identical. There’s no such thing as an “outdoor skate.” All skates can be used indoor or outdoor, it’s the wheels that determine the type of use. The wheels are not identical. Moxi gummies are wider and they are made of a more dense (heavier) material. This is why the wheels you first referred to as “identical” feel different. You can order the Lolly with the carerra toe stop. The soles/heel material are not identical on the skates. This is a very newbie review, no offense intended. Just FYI. Lots of inaccuracies.
