I think Purdy said it best why he was the best processor right out of college. Dude just had so many more reps in college than everyone else out there. To put that in prospective Purdy had 1467 attempts, young 908 attempts, Garcia 887 attempts, Alex Smith 587. Purdy during his sophomore season was considered a 1st round pick, but if he hadn’t stayed in college he most likely wouldn’t nearly have been as good as he is now
@bazimyan4 ай бұрын
It's not just about reps though; Brock actively tries to get better and does deliberate practice . And he has the mental psychology and makeup for it. You can have all the reps in the world at something but that doesn't mean you'll be world-class or even great at it. Practice makes permanent, not perfect.

Young made me a Niner fan, Alex was one of my favorites (I knew 49ers were doing him dirty while they did him dirty but when Harbaugh was able to show how good he was I was super happy), and Purdy has just been an amazing story. Great kid with a bright future. I was a big fan of Garcia too. I always say he was the guy who could always start but no one trusted him enough to build around him. He took multiple teams to the playoffs. Great group of QBS... go niners

Alex had the toughest first start over any QB. Aaron would have struggled too imo. 7 different OCs and 7 completely different playbooks. That's insane for anyone. Alex would have given us a bowl if the niners gave his starter spot back after the concussion that entered Kaepernick imo. No one was gonna better Alex that season. He was managing the game at a very high level due to his drive. Alex was a top QB before the concussion.

I thought it was a mistake to take out smith for kaep until the play offs. We finally beat GB. We wouldnt had beat GB with smith. Our passing game was dominant with kaep. Now later on kaep fell off, yes. He was so bad i still believe he played bad on purpose
@36MIKET4 ай бұрын
@@Finalize777 well that’s a take. Problem is, we both don’t know what would’ve happened had we let Smith come back and take back over, however Kaep was never that accurate nor did he have good touch on his passes when need be. When he tried, it didn’t work in the SB. The other mobile QBs were able to make you fear their arm, once the defense knew how to keep the ends to contain and let the box be stacked, he couldn’t do much. Hell there is a play that Boldin is wide open and the QB doesn’t look his direction. They literally didn’t have anyone within 20 yards of Boldin pre snap and he never noticed.
