@inkedby_ace Yes, i agree but is playing QB only about pocket awareness? Last time I checked, it requires mental toughness, throwing ability, accuracy, IQ, etc. My standards are just a lot higher than most folks when it comes to calling players "Elite."

@ucechiha3741 No. We've seen him do it with a very good skill position group. Elite gets thrown out too often. I'm guessing u became a fan less than 10 yrs ago & think stats today is comparable to stats in the 80s, 90s, & early 2000s. Purdy isn't a force multiplier right now. Elite status means u are a force multiplier. U are probably apart of the fan base who thought Jimmy G was a top 10 QB also.
@ucechiha3741

@@paulyang748 only if you could see the comments I posted about Pornstar jimmy. You say stats aint all that, yet the only way to determine your list of "elite status" is through stats... Crazy how you said Purdy aint elite but checked that whole category based off your list haha. And I wish i had just become a fan 10yrs ago, I would have only witnessed 2 Superbowl losses instead of 3

Brocks incredible, and keeps getting better. Amazing danger sense, incredibly elusive and quick, and he throws absolute darts. He's top 5 IMO and the stats over the last two years prove that out.

Brock is more than good, he's definitely a franchise QB. If he's "struggling", it's mostly because our receivers aren't open. The Chiefs showed the league in the SB that the way to defend the 49ers is man to man coverage. Kyle and our receivers need to figure out how to get open more.

This is like the 3rd game where he ran backwards 20 yards to the left which is the worst thing he can do. He has been lucky so far but it will catch up with him if he keeps doing it.

Proof on Purdy - 10% of his throws at line of scrimmage or behind the line (LOWEST in NFL), 31% of his yardage is from YAC (LOWEST in NFL), Throw difficulty 65.4% (2 HIGHEST only to J. Daniels right now), 58% of throws past 15 yards (3rd only to Burrow and Mahomes). Since week 14 2022 when he played... 1st most points per game 29.3, Most yards (as a team) 400.5 per game, Yards per play 6.6 yards. Any more doubt? He can have a bad game here and there...only one I can think is last year vs Ravens.

I am old enough to remember when John Brodie was our quarterback. Then guys like Norm Snead and Steve Spurrier. I thought Steve DeBerg was better than a young Joe Montana but thank God I was quickly proven very wrong. I have been impressed with Brock Purdy since the beginning. And we have been waiting for Brock to come along for 30 years. And sorry, but I was never much of a Steve Young fan. He kind of specialized in choking at the wrong time. Though he did win one Super Bowl and had a few years with great stats. Brock will win a few SB's by the time he is done. He is just getting started and has had it all together since the start of his NFL career.

All great QBs have poor games, like Purdy did last week. Montana had them. Brady had them. Manning (both of them) had them. Purdy has a number of attributes that make him a top QB. He sees the field. He keeps plays alive, but is always looking down field to find the open receiver. He doesn't try to force the ball in between multiple defenders. He leads his receivers, and often throws them open. And when the ball comes out it is usually a very pretty ball, on target with a perfect spiral. The only thing he really hasn't showed yet is the ability to bring a team back when down late, especially when down by multiple scores. Part of that is he hasn't had the opportunity that much. But that is what made the QBs like Montana, Mahomes, Brady, Elway, etc., so impressive.

First play shown in depth BA was wide open. He even cocked back to throw but abandoned it. There was nobody over the top. BA was wide open. For some reason Brock isn't anticipating his throws like last year. He is waiting for them to be open.

@jonathanlopez2697 Gotta see him win shootouts vs good teams. He hasn't had the chance to do that yet. I'm just holding my final opinion until I see more. He is good, I'm not sure if he's elite like what the numbers say.
@jonathanlopez2697

Shootouts require bad defenses, when Brock has showed he can torch both good and bad defenses, what difference does it make. He's come from behind in large deficits to beat good teams in the playoffs which in my opinion hold more weight. A shootout doesn't change the fact He's already proven to torch good and bad defenses. His numbers has been elite from his very first start. 32 games later, ain't shit changed.
@paulyang748
@paulyang748 16 сағат бұрын
@jonathanlopez2697 Well, I guess we should just add him into the Ring of Honor already. Do u remember Jimmy's seasons? Jeff Garcia? Calling him elite is a lazy analysis. We need to pump the brakes & continue to let the kid show us he can carry the team even when they aren't playing well. Elite QBs often times pull ugly games out even when their teams gives up bad TDs. He did that today but it seems like he's lost more of these ugly games than winning them.
@jonathanlopez2697
@jonathanlopez2697 16 сағат бұрын
@@paulyang748 now you're just being ridiculous. Nobody is rolling out the ring of honor right now, but if he maintains his current play, as to say that he's played amazing these 3 years, which he has, then yeah sky's the limit. And Nobody is going to take you seriously if you're comparing Brock to both Garcia and Garoppolo whom he's already showing to be better than both statistically and visually in every way. If you want to keep moving goal posts, by all means, go for it, but it doesn't change that Brock Purdy has statistically and visually has been top 3 since he started in 22'. That's not even debatable, that's fact. Some, if not most would consider that elite. Take away mahomes 2 super bowls and no other QB in the league had been more impressive. None. Not lamar, not Josh Allen who looked like shit last week, not Herbert, not Rodgers, not CJ, ...no one.
