To me it seems like a clear pre-planned effort to include lgbt sentiments in religions and religious festivals . Notice how wierd it is .. many Asian feminists are so much against this patriarchal hetarosexual marriages .. while at the same time they are literally crying in joy when they see same sex "marriages" . I thought they were totally against the institution of marriage ?

I remember when the Tanishq ad came out, TATA shares fell drastically. My father is a share holder and was not at all concerned about it. I did not understand at first but just after a few days the share value grew 10-20 times faster than usual. The fall actually helped TATA to make a profit. So just social media boycott does not work. @@avibcci1297 "collection of festivals than a festival itself" That Jashn-e-Riwaz ad was about Diwali in particular. Why did that ad not appear when Eid was here? The entire point here is that it's only Hindus that are targeted. Same with that Surf Excel, you'll never see it other way around. "I don't have a problem considering that Hindi has taken many loan words from Persian, Turkic like it does from Sanskrit. " So? Does that mean we replace even more words that are Sanskrit in origin with Persian, Turkic or Arabic words? Also, you're pretending like there is no relation between language, culture and religion. Don't try to be clever, we see right through it. Tell the muslims to read Quran in Sanskrit and when you and your family get beh3aded, then you'll understand. "the beauty of India in general is how chilled we are with people expressing themselves" The beauty of India is that Hindus are constantly sh@t on and keep taking it. Muslims never accepted any criticism and never will. They will simply beh3ad you if you try. Ask them how "chilled we are with people expressing themselves" about Islam. "I see these ads as representation of that rather than woke messaging." Again the problem is that these ads target only Hindus. That hypocrisy is the point here that you're missing. "LGBTQ is acceptable in Hinduism from millenia" Which is exactly why we don't need any more gyan on that. If every time someone came up to you told you 2 plus 2 is 4, what will you say? You'll say I already know that, stop telling me that. That's exactly the case with LGBTQ in Hinduism - it's already accepted. If you're really trying to make a change here, make the ad with Muslims or Christians lesbian couple or whatever. But they won't do that. That was Sham's point. "Surfexel add giving message of social Harmony is not wrong." You could give the message of social harmony without throwing the Hindus under the bus. But they didn't do that. They sh@t on Hindus for no reason whatsoever. If all of this was a rare occurrence, nobody would complain. But this has happened way too many times now. And it's always the Hindus are made a mockery of.

During Holi, my sister was in hospital for her final few days left. She was expected to leave us anytime, after surgery, chemo and radiation failed to treat her cancer. After spending the night at hospital, I came back home for a shower and food and change of clothes, before going back to hospital. In a housing colony near the hospital, people celebrating Holi smeared me with colour from head to foot, and I had to go all the way back home (seven km away) and change my clothes and come back to hospital. When they announced that she was dead later that afternoon, I was sitting in hospital with colour all over my face. I could change clothes, but couldn't wash the colour off my face and my arms. From then on, when people say celebrate, but be mindful (holi, crackers on the road affecting traffic etc), I stopped seeing that as attempts to curb and control my religious expression. Offering namaz on the street is also a problem, but can't deny that we cannot be bursting crackers on the road and affecting traffic and causing danger to others, and throwing colour on people passing by without consideration for their condition.

Wokeness isn't always bad. (If you sort comments by 'newest first' and see my earlier comment, you will see where I'm coming from) There is nothing "beta-male" about being considerate towards the marginalised and the alienated. But, yes, I agree that parents (and not just the father) need to instil a value-system in their kids, one of which should be discernment, and an ability to rise above sweeping generalisations.

I hope one day these clothing brands make an advertisement about fast fashion. I wanna see what Fab India and these intellectuals have to say about environmental destruction and abuse of the lower class caused by mass producing tons of non-biodegradable fabric. But they'll never make an advertisement about that. They don't have the decency or the courage to actively choose environmental benefit over designer clothing. How many intellectuals will actively STOP buying new clothes every year for the sake of environment and human rights? How many of these intellectuals will redesign their parents' old fabric instead of throwing it away? How many of these woke clothing brands will encourage people to maintaining and repairing their clothing and other items instead throwing it away as soon as they get old? (There's literally whole books that have instructions about washing, stitching fabric is such a way that it stays looking new for years). How many make-up brands will admit that their products are a result of blatant human exploitation? Answer: None of them. None of them will actually try to instill a system that ensures sustainability, decreases consumption and treats artists with dignity and a respectable pay. They'll keep talking about social issues while perpetuating them. And I'll have no choice but to get annoyed by the fact that the fabulous garments shown in their ads will probably end up in the ocean and choke some poor animal in a few years.

@@avibcci1297 The beauty of India is how chill people we are with expressing themselves, as long as this responsibility of tolerance is pinned on one community. Hindus have a problem with only their religion being targeted while other communities get a free pass. If people tried to modernize festivals of other religions too, Hindus wouldn't have a problem 🤷. After all, India is comprised of such diverse religions, rt? So why not make woke ads on all of them? Why only target Hinduism? If they have the freedom to make offensive content about our religion, then viewers also have the right to get offended by it. And before anyone says that people are overreacting over an ad, let me ask: who are you to decide what Hindus should and shouldn't like? We don't like them dissing our religion, we don't like such weird-sounding names being associated with our religion, point blank. I mean c'mon, we have some people in the country praising tal*ban while calling RSS a terr*rist organisation. Hindus are literally called fasc*sts for wanting people to show some respect towards their religion. What are wokes gonna demand next? Free therapy and quota for radical islam*sts? It begins with things like advertisements and it ends with things like ethnic cleansing. Hindus are tired with being the only flag bearer of tolerance. Get over it.
