He’s given me a childhood that he never had and for that I will always be grateful. My dad risks his life everyday (he’s a firefighter) for strangers and I never know if he’ll make it out alive. I always wanted to have a relationship like this with my Daddy and then come to find out that at 55 my Daddy isn't my Daddy. I always wished that he drank or did drugs because then I would have an excuse for the beatings and the physical and mental and verbal abuse!! Now I know why he hates me so and showed me it!! I've always been introduced to people as "The other daughter" and now I know why. He told me 2 years ago that my family is from Kentucky. I probably won't ever be able to do an ancestry DNA test because I'm terminally ill and barely make enough to pay my bills I most months go without food for one week a month but I'm ok to die now knowing this!! I just wish I would have known this before my Momma died so I could have asked her questions!!

My dad lost his battle with dementia here on earth, he went on to be with Jesus on September 14th 2020.I miss my dad so much so much that my heart is breaking, I spent every day at mom and dads, I thank God for giving me the opportunity to be able to be there for both my parents, we found out that my mom has stage 4 breast cancer, so I pray that God takes that cancer and throw it in the ocean and bless my mom with feeling good again. my heart would break into if I lost my mom, I don’t think I would make it thru another parents passing, I am super close with both parents, I moved in a house just 1 mile from their house in 2013 so I could take care of them! Started crying right before the first chorus. In the last 4 years my mother has been diagnosed with cancer twice (first time was stage 3 breast cancer and second was stage 4 brain cancer) and times have been hard. What a beautiful song. Total tear jerker too 🥲 My little girl is nearly 3 and I couldn't imagine my life without her in it. I don't have the words to express the joy I feel when she calls me Daddy ❤ I was 35 when she was born. I didn't realise my whole life would mean so much more with her arrival. Thanks for this song. If I can't muster the strength to sing her Butterfly Kisses ( which is most likely, I can't even get through 1st chorus with my voice cracking like a crystal wine glass already ) we can listen to this and I'll just sob my way around the dance floor with her on her wedding day when we have our Father Daughter dance.
