Chain mangalya is from groom side so you should wear it for life time. Im aslo modern but i am wearing managalya everyday and i never tried to take it off. My husband asked me to wear simple diamond mangalya and he gifted me to wear it. But i told him ill wear it for 1 year atleast because we will be following some rituals for 1 year... i dont have any ristriction but its good to follow as new bride. Ask your mom and in-laws about it then decide. Golden chain will suit in every outfit it will not be visible. Gold chain has bcm trend now.

What i suggest is when it's come to saree. If your planning to go for light or pastel colour make sure the saree design and border zari whatever it should be like top notch, so that blouse can be simple it will be balanced. If your planning for darker shades make sure saree is decent and you can work with blouse, designs so on . But what i think is, your short so if blous will be heavy it's makes you look wider and short ☺️. Just a suggestion. When it comes to lehenga i think 2nd one was best because it was really snatching in camera. Because offcourse your holding a good memory and life time moment you cannot marry twice . So in the photos it was good. The first was decent but not upto the mark ❤️
