What I love about this musical is how Elton John goes out of his comfort zone. This song is a great example...we get a vaudeville hat and cane number. Sure it ends on pop style, buut what comes befire is so different from what we've heard on the radio.

I remember seeing this production at my local cinema in Sydney, Australia. It was advertised as filmed live from the West End. The scene where the two boys sneak into the club after hours resonated with the cinema audience that I was a part of. The air conditioning in the cinema was extremely cold, everyone was uncomfortably cold. The two boys made a comment about how cold it was in the club. Everyone in the audience yelled out “it’s cold here too”.
