FE: Shackled Power - Chapter 19x

The prep chapter, with an arena, which is why I ended up with more funds than before the chapter started.
The majority of it is just me arena abusing for 8 turns, and because of me trying to utilize the maximum number of fights per turn without hampering my shopping time, along with the usual long cutscenes, the video duration is much longer than expected.
Not sure why we can have up to 14 units here but mostly 12 on regular ones. Still, with that many to deploy here, you can consistently have up to 5 arena fights per turn if you have RNG fully on your side with barely enough healers while not even bothered to buy anything.
Since I'm mostly a risk-averse player, I went for 4 rounds per turn, which is good enough to have a few spare units to go around visiting the shops (actually only 1 unit). The arena abuse at the beginning was really shaky with a certain character kept getting weapon triangle disadvantage for 3 fights straight.

The promotion timing felt a little off once again, like Prosel should hand her the seal earlier so he doesn't have to come back and interrupt her self-reflection (which was the perfect time for her to promote).

Lots to say for this chapter. The prologue trio showing up was nice. Brought some lightness to the story (along with using the earlygame map theme) and it kinda evoked a "look Gary there I am!/Leonardo pointing at the screen" kind of feel since you barely see side characters in cutscenes in vanilla FE. DLATMOL did that a lot and it was cool. It's odd you see a villain truly care for another individual. Whether how much it is a form of narcissism (she shaped him into a better warrior) or genuine care depends on the reader, but if Nestrix would make her self known rather than just teleport in and out with Odin's body means she cares on some level. Marilyn is different from a lot of FE clerics in that her faith may not even be fully there compared to others (then again they barely talk about it in general). Coming to faith and still not feeling fully there if at all seems a lot more relatable. Also seeing her anger gradually built up and standing up for herself also (like the thumbnail shows). She keeps that edge for the rest of the story too, it even surprises Prosel. Nita has more to her once you read her Eileen supports and get the convo with Eileen in Endgame 1, but she reminds me of the 😡 emoji

Yeah, having the trio from the prologue show up here was very nice to say the least. One of the first things that come to mind that remind me of it was the cavalier trio from SOTF, since they also get to appear in some cutscenes, although there were some were they didn't appear even if they were still alive. Then again, that romhack wasn't and still isn't finished yet, so who knows, maybe they improve on that part of the story. That's something I plan to do too, like having certain side characters show up in the story if you still have them in the army. Not all of them mind you since there's gonna be a ton of them lol, but some that might be more important or fleshed out than others. And also do the inverse, where I have certain characters still appear in the story even if they got defeated, and having alternate death quotes for the parts of the game where they don't have plot relevancy anymore, just like how the most recent Fire Emblem game (Engage) did it. And also, as much as Nestrix cared for Odin, I will say it clearly: that kind of sh$t will never justify her cruelty acts towards others, nor her being responsible for the destruction of an entire city. I have no sympathy for idiots like her.

@@swinelias Yeah, no matter how much she genuinely cared for Odin, doesn't excuse her actions with trying to bring down two nations through evil means even if they've both caused a lot of problems. And (spoilers for endgame even though it's kinda implied throughout the game on what they're doing, but read at you're own risk) You can make the argument that If she truly cared for him, I'm pretty sure she'd rather him get a proper burial than get turned into a spawn.

Silly Nestrix, you know exactly how Marilyn survived your attack. You've seen Brigitta use Cutscene Armor to best that demon before, after all Also hey, she finally promotes from Jail Lord to Playable Once More, and with massive bonuses to boot (though as a healer in build, she probs needed them). It's kinda funny that Nello has his whole Anime Moment of gaining new power and resolve from one of his fallen comrades, only to have it be used for shopping I wonder what we can expect now that she's not acting anymore. Maybe she'll show the attitude that best pairs with Nostanking :^

Onick / ruben / cadence have a convo with the bandit swordmaster Boss , the boss has a convo with The mage boss . The boss move after a while so its better to go fast so he can powerstaff the two statuts staves instead of him running aroud double statusing everyone. After you can kite him and stole the boots easy . East village has the warp staff ( iirc)

Starting today's chapter, and... Yep, after that cutscene we can say screw Nestrix, thinking she's Odin's real family and demonizing his family for it. I wonder if she acts like that because she lost someone that was similar to him, but who knows, it's not like it'll justify her being a cruel and *monstrous* witch. She won't have long to live now. 27:45 lol, that reminds of Code of the Burger King and the way it made prf weapons, in the sense that they could be used by their respective characters no matter if the class they were in used that type of weapon (Ie. A character that was in a class that only uses lances could still use their prf even if it was a bow). 32:58 yeah, at least you didn't use the guys that could only use bombs lol. I guess they replaced the monster weapons too, right? 33:25 nice, they're very generous (much unlike Rita there). 37:21 at the very least he gets killed in two hits. 43:10 true lol. 44:19 wait, did he just call her Rita Repulsa? Either that's some sort of an easy nickname, or the Power Rangers exist in some form in this world. 47:13 well, guess no exp for Madari lmao. All exp goes for the kid thief.
