I wanted to ask for your opinion: in terms of safety and comfort, which full-face helmet under RM500 would you recommend as the best option in Malaysia? I have not tried many under MYR 500 full face helmets, so I cannot say definitely which is the BEST, from what I tried, I feel the KYT Striker might be a bit better than the TT Course. HJC C10 can be considered, design wise not as aggressive as the KYT but should be nice/comfortable to use. For KYT helmets, I'm not sure, you can try checking on platforms like Shopee, see which bike shops sell it and go there. For HJC there are authorized dealers and even their own store called Gobike Today which you can check out, a quick Google search will get you the address and contact details. My colleague bought one few months ago, Pros : Comfortable padding, helmet lock easily adjusted, wide visor contributes to clear vision, ventilation is pretty good Cons : Padding not fully adjusted (easily got detached), some noise detected from the vent after cruising over 70kmh. Overall verdict : Fairly good helmet with affordable price

Thanks for sharing his feedback.. Did he change the pad? I read for those that change pad (from other source) the fitment is not good for the plastic tabs and essy to pop off their position. One of the reasons I don't really bother to wash the pads so I don't need to remove them often. 😅

That's odd why the pad can come off maybe wasn't properly fasten to the button holes or could be defect? Should try bring to the shop to check

You're correct about the visor mechanism it's kinda difficult for visor replacement.

Finally they brought in the plain, no graphics ones for sale here. The TTC was one of the few FF helmets in my list for daily use, but at the time I am shopping around they do not have these plain ones yet. So I've gone & got myself a Bell Qualifier instead as I thought it would better match my bike's overall design, but in hindsight I think the performance would be around the same for these 2 helmets. The TTC has the advantage of better priced accessories like visors & such. But why lah they took so long to bring the plain ones into our market 😅

I'm not sure seems like the stock is uncertain.. When it's available everyone selling, when finished then suddenly cannot be found anywhere.. So you should buy one before it disappear again.. 😂

Haha the shape is really one of the reasons I got the helmet. It really is a bang for our buck for a decent starter helmet. I was considering between Zeus and KYT and did not regret choosing KYT. Every pro and con you said about the helmet I experienced first hand and can say the same about them. Thanks for the review #ridesafesaferide

Thanks for this detail review. Lucky I stumble upon this before buying it, else I would really regret throwing out my money for a thing that do not fullfil my need. Any advice what budget helmet should I get? I ride a cbr600f 2013 ( the outcast version of 600rr, not like cbr650f which is a sport touring) daily ride average speed of 120kmh, max speed 150kmh only(I don't ride fast), mix of hiway and heavy traffic routes( need clear wide vision) and doesn't goyang the head when hi speed. I have ls2 valiant 2 helmet which is perfect except for when hit 120kmh kepala goyanggggg.

I think this Kyt are worth the money, the design the ventilation looks good... rather than a cheap hjc that i wear 9yrs ago when being pillion following my BIL riding his bike, the wind combine with exhaust rabak sound making my ear 'berdesing' when arrive at destination😂

Well to be fair I think the HJC from 9 years ago is different from the HJC now, plus this helmet is not quiet so your ears will probably berdesing for long ride too.. 😂

Yup, that's true.. Yes KYT TTC price point suitable for most to be used as daily, and maybe their more expensive ones for the weekend..

Which do you recommend more? KYT TT coarse or HJC CS-15 KYT is about 100g lighter right?

On paper they are both 1450g +- but when holding them the CS-15 feels a bit heavier than the TTC. If you like a more aggressive design it's the TTC.. Fit wise I feel the CS-15 is more snug (both M size). The TTC is a bit noisier than CS-15. Which one to get is your choice.

I think KYT is popular here in Malaysia too, even their open face helmets are quite common to be seen, probably because of the graphics..

If I'm not mistaken KYT and Soumy are linked together, either by means of KYT buying shares in Soumy or they have some cooperation in R&D, need to check on Google to be sure, that's why their lids are very similar..

Since the helmet didn't fit too tightly for me, I don't see any issue for glasses, but then again I don't wear glasses, so I cannot say for sure. I have seen other riders around using this helmet and wearing glasses, so I guess it's OK?

I would rate it as an entry level type helmet, so the quality is around what you would expect from an entry level type helmet model.

If the helmet is sporting the racer graphic, like what you see on MotoGP/Moto2/Moto3 for example, they will sometimes call that a replica because the graphic is a replica of that racer's helmet graphic.

I'm not sure who the authorized distributor of Bell helmets is in Malaysia at the moment, will need to check on that.. But I don't think I will have a chance to try out the Bell Qualifier. I may have a friend that uses one, I'll try to get his feedback on it.

If at 120 km/h it's almost at the point when it starts to get noisy.. Doesn't matter if on kapcai or superbike.. At the similar speed you should start to get that noisier wind sound.. Use ear plugs to reduce it, if riding long distance on highway.

If your head is 56,5 cm wide a 57-58cm helmet is too big and will shake for sure.

It's not too lose and they don't have small size, M is the smallest so that's what I can only get and try, and my feedback is that.. Without testing S size I won't know if the shaking will be the same or not.

It meets ECE standards so it's legal to use on the streets, of course normal budget helmet and premium helmet have different level of protection and different materials so it should function to protect the head but within it's safety standard.

I haven't tried the Zeus or LS2, probably the entry / mid level HJC but if want a bit more aggressive looks would go with this KYT..

@@jkpisces If you are not going fast I don't think it will be a huge problem.. Otherwise can try ear plugs. Some people can deal with the noise, but some cannot.

From my experience I would say the chart is pretty close, but head shape may be a factor since not everyone has a similar head shape. I measured up as M, and the smallest I could find on the market was M so I went with M. The fit was OK for me not as snug on the cheeks but was not loose fit either.

They have plenty of Indonesian sellers on the Shopee platform.. Never tried buying directly, if you want to do that, be careful since no buyer protection..

I think there are 2 grades, even both are made in indonesia, the one made For Malaysian market, the grades passed the europe specs, and sirim. Im afraid if you buy from indonesia, it wont pass the custom.

In summary, the helmet is nice, visor vision is good. Wind noise is a bit noisy. High speed riding can feel the helmet shaking a bit. Hope that helps!
