What is a Tarot Signifier or Significator?

Thank you for your support over the years! I have retired from teaching tarot, but want to leave these videos as a resource for anyone who would like to learn.
The cards used in all of my videos are from The Simple Tarot Deck Starter Kit, which is now permanently out of print.

3:38, its more traditional because back when tarot was emerging, people believed that the body formed as a physical manifestation of the soul, they believed neglecting your body was neglecting your soul and changing your body's image was an attempt to change your soul

I do have cards I associate with certain messages because they’ve had a specific meaning in personal readings in the past, but it’s more like I know intuitively when they take me back to a past reading. I’ve never tried using a signifier intentionally, but I do use clarifiers fairly often. Thanks for explaining them, I might try them to see how that’ll work for me.

I don’t use a signifier as I find it introduces bias from perhaps my initial assessment of the person.

I have a pretty weird question. So I'm 17 and have been doing tarot for years and I want to do it full time but I'm about to graduate. Do you suggest college for like counseling or psychology if I want to read tarot full time? Or just hit the ground running?
