lol u made the classic beginner mistake: thinking that 1 sim would be easier. Nah. two or even three adults is best. Lets say he had two sims, one focuses on Career in the beginning while the other keeps the house in order, cleaning, cooking and learning to cook better ( the higher your skill the more it will fill ur hunger meter) also the stay at home sim could be the socialite throwing parties making friends. to boost that vitamin B for the other sims career. also could clean/keep the garden alive so when ur sim goes to work they wont get red environment debuff. Later when sim 1 is sufficiently up the ranks and maybe even has less worktime and more money you can hire househelp to clean for your sims and gardeners ect and then let ur second sim start to work. still fun to see u struggle... also sims 1 was hard I mean the whole game challenge was to get lvl 10 of the jobs and huge house while maintaining friendships and kids (also Kids are really good for friendmaking too ^^) man I wanna play this again so bad.

This comment is 1 years old but i cannot agree more. Sims 1 is the only sims game i have and even to this day it is (almost) impossible to get a single sim to make it to the top. What also helps is to let the at home sim paint to get some more money.

@@nicole4740 Sims 1 is also the only Sims game I owned until recently when I finally got Sims 4 because I'm not sure where the CD for Sims 1 is lol but yeah I actually miss the constant struggle of Sims 1

I never skipped a day unless I had a baby. as a kid I feared those angry phone calls. Even as a twelve year old haha. I did manage to do everything, it's just a matter of managing your time properly and always asking people over in the morning or the afternoon have dinner with them and stuff.

the painting of a clown summons clown every time your sims are "depressed" and having a bad mood. He only is there to make things worse and once your mood is back up he will dissapear. NEVER buy that stupid painting!

You are using the time laps quite alot, maybe you know it's by now buy it is actually a big in the game that makes the time go much faster than the need while time lapsing. If you for an example sleep with speed 3 it takes longer time to get your Sim fully rested than it will in speed 1.

I just used the hacked outhouses and flower pots back when I played. I know it's cheating but it was SO DAMN HARD to keep those fucks alive when you went anywhere :/

I always played with one Sim because it was too difficult as a child to do it without cheating, maybe that's why I still only use one. xD If you gave yourself a load of money, you wouldn't have to give your Sim jobs so it was a lot easier.

I don't think you should concern yourself over the music. LGR uses The Sims 1 and SimCity music in his videos a lot and hasn't been flagged yet.

The Sims 2 is the easiest with mood because you can buy the mood machine that maxes out your needs, it had charges but I had a trick when you cancel the use in the middle and it the machine didn't wear off. TS3 is the second easiest especially with traits and TS4 is pretty bad because your sims shits himself and falls asleep at 10% instead of 0% and the moods don't help either.

You absolutely have to skip every other day of work, there's no other way to get the skills up. And always focus on the friend count just as you're about to get a promotion, the numbers can dwindle during skill-building for the next promotion. Also, a solid morning routine helps with the Sim going to work happy (and having Good or Excellent performance): if you wake up at 3am for a 9am car pool you'll have plenty of time to use the toilet, shower, cook food and watch tv.

Oddly, I've played this game several times, years apart and have figured out most of the tricks. 1) food processor - makes meals more nutritious. 2) coffee 3) you can skip every other day of work with no penalty 4) a single sim is better off getting maid service and stat building 5) I think chatting on the phone actually builds friendship and social

You can take a day off of work without any negative effects (except a phone call telling you to not miss work again) just don't miss two days in a row or you'll be fired

The reason why everything it's so hard because you need to skill, The Sims is like an MMO, you need skill to progress which mean you need better charisma to gain friends easier and better cooking to waste less time on cooking.
