Although this is 10/09/2023, this is the 1st tutorial, that has made sense to me. And I am now using all of my tools to get this bracelet and end caps done. Thank you so much. You are a wonderful teacher.

Great tutorial. Thank you. I couldnt figure out the flower at the beginning so instead I drilled a 1/16" hole about 1/4" deep every 6mm around a 3/8" dowel then put toothpicks in each hole to hold the wire. 5 holes spaced at 6mm is equidistant around a 3/8" dowel which happens to have a 30mm circumference. Adjust yours accordingly. When I was done I just pulled the toothpicks out and the knit slid right off.

I was digging in my tool box for something to do the Viking knit and realized my screwdrivers have "channels" or ridges down the sides of the handle grip that works so much better for me to keep the rows of loops straight as I go. Works pretty good !

I have watched other tutorials on how to make a similar style but involves annealing several times, soldering and not to mention the many tools I would have to purchase. I am so happy I stumbled on your tutorial. Thank you for this lovely gift of learning how to make this gorgeous piece. Your instruction is easy to understand and thoroughly explained. I love the chunkier piece, actually, I love them all! I can't wait to try this! Thank you ❤

To extend the life of the cutters, I use a rasp file to clean up nicks, sharpen the blade and smooth the flush side. It keeps old ones alive and also makes junky new ones viable.

Will I made one following your directions. Definitely not as easy as you make it look. The knitting part was the easiest part. Did a double knit. Used about 21 feet of wire for that and ended up cutting off about 2 inches after I drew it though the board. The hardest part is the fit and finish when making and attaching the clasp. You said that was the worst one you've ever made. You should have seen mine! You've definitely got talent. All in all even with the problems I had an enjoyable process. I'll be making more for gifts. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and skills. I saw you have a shop on Etsy. I'll be stopping by there to buy something. Thanks again!

Thanks I will sure try it. For jumprings u cut them on by on and make sure both ends are flush. So you cut the first on flush at the beginning, then you turn your cutter and flushcut the jumpring. Then you clean up your wire for the second jumpring. And you cut it flush for the second jumpring. Etc. So you have to be aware you wil lose som wire at the end if you make the coils perfect size. So I put some extra wire and so your jumprings are nice and flush on both sides. It's a bit more work vit you have beautiful julpribgs without using a special tool. Thank you in for this tutorial... I think I will try it with a thicker wire too. Like a 22 gauge wire. Because my 24 gauge wire seems like a bit thin er than yours. I need only that tool to use to get the bracelet true. Gonna try to find it. U am from Belgium and we are terrible to wor k with copper wire. Everybody uses aluminium. And I don't like that. It's too soft. So it's even hard to find good wire. I buy it in the USA or I use electrical cord. Lol.

This looks so great. But can anyone tell me approximately how much wire is needed for a single viking knit bracelet, women size. Thank you.....
@TheSirenandThePirate
@TheSirenandThePirate 2 жыл бұрын
There are lots of variables that will determine the amount of wire that will be needed. The size of dowel/tool you are weaving around, the amount of loops /rows you start with, if you are doing a single/double/or triple weave, how far down you draw your weave and the length of bracelet. I'm working on a Q&A video to answer questions like this and to share how I keep track of the amount of wire I use to make a slew of different sizes and styles of bracelets.
