Hiking the FLORIDA TRAIL + Snorkeling 4 of Econfina's Springs (Ep. 32)

In this episode, Siren and Captain Hal head to Econfina to do a quick loop off the Florida Trail to explore several spring heads. The trail is much different than it was before Hurricane Michael, and while there are few trees left, the underbrush and trail is slightly overgrown. The spring heads were all restored in 2015, and Hurricane Michael hit the area in 2018, but the springs are now beautiful and accessible as usual.

Yeah! They've done a LOT of work here since we were kids. Looks very manicured now, and sparse after the hurricane in 2018. When we were kids, it was very wooded and much more natural.

Most of the springs are too cool for gators and moccasins to be comfortable in. They'll be there sometimes, but they get sluggish.
