Since u commented that the entire village seems to be at Geet's home, thought I would share about the fascinating "ancestral family home" tradition in India. Here people wherever life might take them, can trace themselves to a village where their forefathers original hail from, and more often than not still have a family home there with at least some distant grand uncle or someone living their. Most cases these multi generational homes are where family from all over the country go back to during festivals, marriages, newborn traditions and last rites, even if they live somewhere else all their lives. Often these homes are maintained by someone in each generation who chooses to stay back here and maintain the home and farmland. Often relations who work in cities send back some money, and the produce of the land is often sent to away family. This ancestral home acts as an anchor, it helps family who have fallen on hard times outside. One may have been living away for generations, but if ever needed will always have the village home to fall back to. Nowadays many are dismantling these homes and selling off the property, but it is frowned upon in society. Personal experience- We lost our ancestral home and land 75 yrs ago when country was divided and my grandparents had to flee. Yet we know that 1 uncle of my grandpa stayed behind and his descendants are probably still at that home, and despite never having any contact for 2 generations, if we ever go back, we would be welcomed. My great grandfather worked away in a British colonial company, when his wife died leaving behind my grandfather and great uncle as babies, he sent them to that family home 800 miles away and never saw them again for 20 years until the Country division and exodus. The babies were brought up along with cousins, by aunts, uncles and grandma's who lived in the ancestral home. And this is quite common. That great uncle died in UK a few yrs ago, me and my younger cousins who had never even met him, observed his last rites in our 'new' ancestral home that my grandpa established. Exodus during the country division 75 yrs ago caused my grandfather's cousins to flee to different places, with many not knowing where the others went. 2 yrs ago one such family branch during the arrangements for a wedding, found out about my grandfather, who at 95yrs was like the family eldest(like the grandpa in the movie). They travelled over 2 states to come visit the "new" ancestral home, and seek my grandpa's blessings and traditional permission for the wedding, even if its just formality. And so the 4th cousin who we never knew existed, began her wedding rituals at our home😂. Even the invitation cards for the reception to be held in Mumbai had my grandpa's name as host. Now that my grandparents are no more, and no one wants to stay in that old fashioned home he built and entertain the 'nuisance "unknown relatives, the house will soon be sold off and we will be rootless again as we were 75 yrs ago. Now that we care only for ourselves, old age homes, orphanages and homelessness awaits our future generations.

Anshuman was a total jerk. Left her all alone for 9 months never checked up on her, only came back after realising she has moved on, got jealous after hearing Aaditya's voice in the phone call, nah he never loved her, never deserved her. So whatever happened at the end bestie deserved that.

The guy on the right with a sweeter tone always understands hidden emotions of movies which are really complicated to derive when you are watching a movie for the first time and especially if you are not an indian. Example: how he said that Geet has turned into Aditya's old self now. I was like dude! how did you know so quick? ❤❤ I'll be waiting for new movie reactions from you guys especially the ones made in 90s and 2000s!

I really feel that these guys have not evolved much sense and taste for Indian cinema by looking at the reactions and so much confusion even in simple scenes. It’s a long way for you guys. For ex. In the scene where Anshuman arrives at the hotel to meet Geet and Aditya motivates Geet to get back with Anshuman, there also they are saying that they’re confused especially the middle guy I mean fr? It’s clear that Aditya is in love with Geet and simply sacrificing his love for her happiness and in that scene these guys are saying that the characters are making a big deal out of it🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ PS- I have seen their other movie reactions too and they have shown the same kind of reaction (confused, not understanding the depth of the scene etc)

@nehatiwari6183 Жыл бұрын
Yes I agree. They need to educate themselves about India’s culture and values. Family dynamics and much much more. “I don’t know what the hell that means”, saying that again and again and watching everything with western POV is not going to help. It’s not enjoyable to watch reactions that are this confused. Good or bad options are welcome but this confusion is irritating

Anshuman leaving is so bad because of the context that india is still a conservative society. A girl marrying someone she chooses is a big deal. So if she does decides to run away for some guy then its a huge deal, its a big shame for her family. So anshuman being from same society knows that and yet just abandons her. Who knows what could have happened to her alone, on her own. Thats why anshuman is a very bad guy. Geet finally realises that its aditya who has been there for her all the time, loved her unconditionally.
