I think the reason the Super Form theme keeps going is because Super Sonic and Classic Super Sonic were never supposed to be in the final boss, so the music only had to be going until you beat the stage or run out of rings, not switch to a different character. Edit: Same with invincibility.

How the boss should have been (or at least my opinion on how it should have been): The game requires you to get the 7 Chaos Emeralds Sonic and classic sonic turn Super, while the avatar gets a golden shield like in Sonic Heroes And then they fight a fusion of the Death Egg Robot Infinte And then the boss is just like how it was in Heroes/Generations, which is in order to progress the boss fight you need to use the characters certain special abilities Classic Sonic: has his Dash moved from Mania Avatar: can use his grappling hook to hold down the boss Modern Sonic: just like how it was in Generations 3DS
