This is Bobby's wife. I have never posted anything and usually keep my mouth shut, but I really take offense to the guy who said my husband hunts on family land like he does not deserve recognition. He has never killed a deer on a land owned by any family member. When he came up, his family lived on land owned by other people, and the whole family, including the boys, worked hard for the right to live there. I watched my husband sacrifice and work two jobs to be able to afford a permit and a trip up north to public hunting land to hunt big deer. I sacrificed to, but I did not mind because of what he went through to go. You know, nothing about Bobby or what he went through and sacrificed to go on those hunting trips. He did not have a decent automobile and broke down a lot and then later on borrowed an automobile to go on those trips in. Anyone who has read NAWM knows where and how he hunted. For years, he did not want to put himself out there, but he finally agreed to because he thought he could help others be successful.

So crazy to me, listening to Mr Bobby speak, it was like he was speaking 90% about life and only 10% about deer hunting, yet all about deer hunting all at the same time. I love how his logic can be used universally with any aspects of life, hobbies and endeavors. I'd pay big money to just hang out with him for a few days, we wouldn't even have to breathe a word about hunting if he didn't want to.

I love hearing Mr. Worthington tell his stories he reminds me of my mentor who taught me all about the woods. Funny thing I don’t know if either of us knew what was going on at that time I would just follow him all around the woods i never thought of it as him teaching me and I don’t think he was teaching me so to speak I just knew he was really good with that stick and string and I wanted to be like him. So thank you guys for having Mr. Bobby talk with y’all I could listen for ever and it helps me remember back when. I think if young hunter’s would slow down and listen to a older gentleman who has done it with less all the way around they may find that they really get it more so than ever before. Thank you to all three of you for sharing what a blessing to me Mr. Worthington I am a huge fan and I get it Sir.

Absolutely 💯, you can tell a true woodsman when you listen in depth to key things they speak about, i have always loved hunting, and spent a lot of time in the woods, we hunted wherever we could, 99% of time was public, and about 25 years ago, i set out to study deer 365 days of the year, i kept a weather station with me, maps, and notebooks, i took notes every time i seen deer movement, and then studied the reasons why, and if people would put in the time and dedication it takes to be very successful in what they’re passionate about, your odds of success will skyrocket, people scoffed n snickered at first, but it has paid off tremendously for me, and this goes for all of life, not just hunting. A Very good listen, looking forward to the books!

I saw where someone posted about Bobby hunting on family ground. I have known Bobby for many many years and he is the real deal. Nobody knows the woods like him. I have been to his home and he has been to mine many times. His family does not own 1 foot of hunting ground. This guy knows nothing about Bobby, other than the fact that he is jealous of his recognition, that is all he knows about him. Just cause a person cannot possibly understand someone who came up from nothing and made a success out of himself, does not give him the right to comment on what he does.

Lee Ellis of SeekOne is a great example of what Bobby is talking about. Math don't add up. He doesnt kill big bucks cause hes "good". There's money and connections and shady tactics and corner cutting involved. Many other influencer types like that too. Wish people could see that and learn real hunting. Love Bobby and his advice, such rich wisdom from that man.
@peterm707Ай бұрын
He records his hunts so you can see his shots with no feed. His tactics are just different by having connections where friends or others on the internet are informing him where the giants are which changes the equation. Definitely different than going to the woods first and finding the best area to hunt but never know if a giant is in the area or not. So just depends what u consider real hunting

@jackyhallmark3094Ай бұрын
Even though he's a little older than me, listening to this guy speak reminds me so much of my start to hunting and especially deer hunting. I was born in 60. My grandpa owned 320 acres of land in South Central Oklahoma that was great deer habitat. Wasnt hardly any deer back in those late 60s but I tagged along with my dad and uncle as they tried to figure out deer hunting. I dont recall ever seeing a deer but once in a while find deer tracks. By the time I was 12 or 13 , me and a newfound friend my age were trying to figure it out. By the mid 70s we had killed a few small bucks but had never even seen a big buck. I started messing with recurves and by the mid 70s i graduated to a compound bow. I missed a few deer. I finally killed a 6 point in about 76. When I shot, he fell from a spine shot and it scared hell out of me. He mentioned Roger Rothaar. I remember calling him and ordering Rothaar Snuffer broadheads over the phone. Back then thats how we ordered A lot of equipment. In the 80s i killed a lot of bucks but only a couple of decent ones. I read everything I could about deer and deer hunting and because I lived in great deer country I was in the woods a lot. I remember reading over and over about funnels and it just didnt make that much sense to me. One day I was walking through a new patch of woods looking for a tree for a stand. As I stood in a spot looking around It was like a switch went off in my head. I was standing in a funnel that my hard head could comprehend. I killed 2 bucks a year there with my bow for about 4 or 5 years. Since finding that first funnel, thats about all I look for. Since those days I have been fortunate enough to kill many bucks between 130 to the high 150s. Never have broke that 160 inch mark. Most of my best hunting spots were on private land but it was the same private land where me and everybody that wanted to could hunt. Over about the last 25 years about all of those places have been bought by out of state hunters. Their feeding programs have grown the deer bigger and now days they kill bigger deer than I did. Now Im older, two steel knees have slowed me down greatlly but still hunt. Even though I cant get around as good as I could and my hunting ground isnt near as good as it once was, I still cant get interested in hunting over a feeder or bait. Knowing the work I have had to put in over the years makes me understand, respect and enjoy listening to Mr Bobby

Mr. Bobby sounds like he has a ton of wisdom and knows his way around the woods. Maybe I'm missing some context but this style of hunting limits yourself to maybe harvesting the one target buck per year? I guess if that's your goal. Wait until rut and hunt funnels. I'm lucky to have access to a good property, gets hunted hard though, but that's typically my plan also and have been successful more than not getting my target buck. But I feel like I'm not a great hunter. I never seem to get on one early bow in September. Everything falls between mid October and early December. When I watch hunting public, these dudes get on them in different states, early, mid, late season doesn't matter. Being able to be that flexible and adaptable is something I'm looking to learn and grow in.

Curious how much any of these deer weighed in Tennessee vs what a big deer weighs in maine

I live in Tennessee We still have the problem with people poaching deer with dogs every year a bunch of strays will be through out to starve so they will keep the thickits flushed and deer moving if you bait or spotlight you cannot brag on them deer that’s why I am happy with my 120 130 class because bucks because blood sweat and tears went into them plus I hunt public and private and all is over pressured I don’t use cameras because some of my bigger dears were never pictured on them so it gave me false info

Is there anywhere I can buy all of his books?

eBay may be your best bet. His new book Final Quest covers a lot of what is in his other books but a lot more as well. His books resale for quite a lot and some can be hard to find since they aren’t in production any more

Im assuming when you go fishing, you dont use bait on your hook. For someone who refers to mathematics as something to be considered. What are the mathematical chances of catching a fish on a dry hook ? Bait for deer, when used legally, is no different than putting bait on a hook. You increase your "mathematical" chances. If you were to put bait down for deer in the middle of a freeway, how many do you reckon will come to eat it ? Most hunters that utilize bait are putting it at YOUR 4 trail merge. To "mathematically" increase their chances.

I wonder if the guy he was referring to as not Bing honest was Noel Feather. I know I was very devastated when they spilled the beans on him , killing big bucks in a pin. I still think he was a good hunter. I don't think he killed all of the deer he killed were out of a pin.
