Great coverage here, A++. Rocket Lab checks so many boxes it's ridiculous.Charismatic founder, inspiring vision, private launch sites, growing range of products and partnerships, steady backlog of launch orders, commitment to good design and reusability, major catalysts in the pipeline, govt contracts, amazing PR and media content, etc. Launch Window Research did a comparison piece with Astra, it isn't even close. With RKLB stock ~$8, the TradingView +142% price target seems conservative.

They might compete for certain launches, but honestly I feel like Rocket Lab will complement SpaceX more than compete with them. The Electron will do a nice job of filling the void that SpaceX misses (or is weakest at) by providing small satellites with optimal launch windows and specific deployment locations at a cheap price. The Neutron will compete with SpaceX for some launches, but since they aren't willing to land their rockets at sea, SpaceX will maintain control over launches that may require this for booster recovery. Either way, it's an exciting time for spaceflight innovation!

Rocket Lab is awesome. I love their attitude. The only thing I dislike is their helicopter recovery system. Spaceflight moves to another level when you involve human lives. There is risk. We saw how difficult this transition can be when SpaceX went to human flight. Risking lives to go to space makes sense. Risking human life to recover a booster out of the air instead of the ocean does not imo. I know they use the best helicopter pilots around, but if one makes a mistake you can easily loose the booster, the helicopter, and any people aboard. It's just too big a risk to recover a booster that seems to survive parachute splashdown just fine. Again, just an opinion.

I have been following Space technology for close to a decade, and I really cannot wrap my mind around the fact that all space agencies have and share (for a lack of better words), one common goal. To achieve a better tomorrow? But at the same time, there is so much animosity between private companies, and agencies. Just imagine if all agencies and private sectors collaborated, and successfully executed just one single mission. We would be playing football on the moon by now, and have so many ambitions of living in space, and on other planets reality. Not even to mention the LEO habitats, and how crazy advanced space technology would be. Now I'm sure there is a few countries, and private sectors already doing this, but when you turn your head this group is trying to have a pissing contest with the other out of stubbornness, ignorance, and just plain old power. We have a future to uphold, and we all have the tools to sustain it, but actions speak louder than words. Sorry for the bad grammar, and I hope you all have a great day! ☘☘

Let's hope that Rocket Lab pans out, that Neutron and Electron become reputable and reliable workhorse space vehicles, and that we eventually see human-rated ships from this company, and maybe even a heavy launch vehicle to compete with SpaceX's BFR "Starship" and Blue Origin's "New Glenn". I hope so. The more competition we have in space, the better. Let's also hope Rocket Lab continues to refine its technology and engineering to bring launch costs down and make space vehicles even more re-usable.

Here’s a type of technology needed to help those using methane powered rocket engines!! Tech that can do 2 great things!! Tech that can suck the extra methane in the air to help lower methane levels in the air helping clean up the atmosphere to healthy levels!! Then that captured methane could then be recycled to be used for rocket launches!! That along with carbon capture technology that can clean the atmosphere to healthy levels!! As well as used that recycled carbon for other things!!! Also if water can be used to create rocket fuel then we should have a bunch fuel refineries down in Antarctica!! I know that would be tough because of the cold!! Even with that hard work this could be amazing!! That if we could build huge refineries all of the continent we could try and remove as much of the ice as possible and in a span of 2-3 & 4 decades from now we could have a whole new landmass to live on!!!!

Good god i hate when people jump to offshoot comparisons like this. Its not to be a fanboy of sorts for spaceX or even Elon Musk, but it must be said that Elon is not your average entreprenuer by far.. His main shtick is that he addresses the major problems first before addressing the benefits to be had. And thats rare. Where the big three automakers (mainly GM) thought that his venture with Tesla had no hopes of survival, because they took a crack at it themselves and failed, elon understood the key of the electric car success was not the car nor its battery, it was the ability to recharge quickly. and have access to recharging stations nation wide. It was his placement of testa recharging stations that gave buyers the ability to relax on their travel anxieties. Making sure those stations were abundant and reliable. it wasnt about production numbers like everyone was thinking , it wasnt even about quality and features. those were just the icing on the cake, it was all about making sure buyers didnt find themselves stuck on the side of the highway. Most important issue addressed, and everything else can take its time falling into place. And those legacy automakers wouldve never done what he did that that regard. so they wouldve never been success with an all electric car. same thing goes for spaceX. he's committed to tackling the hard stuff first and leaving the easier tasks in the later. doing things this way creates a better overall climate for the company even its employees. better to address the hard stuff first and later relax taking care of the easiers tasks. no one takes this approach, because it comes with great risk, but the rewards are far greater than doing so the other way.
@AT-bw4cm
@AT-bw4cm 2 жыл бұрын
A CEO of a legacy auto manufacturer like GM doesn''t have incentive to take big risks. They didn't have the ability to invest in a charging network. They aren't entreprenuers. Beck isn't an entreprenuer either he's a engineer.

Honestly not sure why SpaceX ever landed on barges. I assume it just has to do with the trajectory of the first stage boosters. But can't they figure out where that is and then build an oil platform type landing pad? Rocket lab has all the key features needed in an investment pitch. Now, let's see them catch any of their rockets. They were smart in copying or buying the tech that Boeing used to create the 787 fuselage though. CF computer spun cylinders are better in every way compared to SS. They can be a single piece with no connections of any kind.

I suspect it's a fuel issue, landing on a designated platform may require a few hundred extra pounds of fuel and then you're left with still having to barge it back, so it makes sense to land it on the barge to start with as it can be pre-placed for various trajectories
