Been in CT for 10 yrs now and yes! This state is haunted from top to bottom. I remember when i came here for the 1st time back in 2014, my apt had some paranormal activity. Seen shadows, stairs making noise, poltergeist, heard voices, had my blankets and bed pulled even my father sees alot of this paranormal stuff and it's just horrible. So glad that we're on a safer place, if you're experiencing paranormal activity, get a priest and have your home blessed and keep a Saint Benedict medal in your home as well. God be with you!

Hmm, let's see if I can predict some of the locations before I watch: Dudleytown, Newtown/Fairfield State Asylum, Norwich Asylum, Union Cemetery/White Lady, Undercliff Asylum, Downes Road, maybe Whirlwind Hill Road, Guntown Cemetery... some people say Devil's Hopyard but that's more colonial superstition lore than anything. Oh yeah there's that house in Southington they based that movie "Haunting in Connecticut" on, it's about on par with Amityville iirc. Let's see how many they pick up on, it's a rather long episode so... (didn't read the info box, otherwise I could have accurately named most of them by description.) Ok so this sounds like more of a top most popular/well known haunted locations list rather than most haunted by claimed activity. Fair but as a lifelong native who's into this shit... meh. There'd better be a followup video in the future, cause this one was all low hanging fruit. Well I've never heard of the Hearthstone Castle hauntings, just the castle itself. I should go visit that next hiking season... The Dudleytown "curse" is bullshit. There's been investigations done, and they've concluded there's no familial lineage or link between those English Dudleys and the Dudleys in Cromwell, CT. I think even the legend about the coup d'etat is inaccurate, but don't quote me on that. Totally forgot about Old Newgate though. That's a good one. Added to the list for next spring. You saved Downes Road for the last entry because it's most scary & terrifying? Come on dude... no. I've driven that road many times, especially a great place for burn rides. It's beautiful out there in that area. Never experienced anything driving along the parts of Downes that are still paved in the hundreds of times I've been on it, no dying car nor demonic voices or phantom hitch hikers. I've even walked the stretch in the woods once, didn't catch anything that time. And fwiw, it's pretty much all private property with homes on both sides of the gates. You're not welcome there, so tread lightly. Then again, I haven't driven it at 3am so take that for what you will. I'm honestly surprised he didn't mention the stupid Melon Head legend about Downes, think The Hills Have Eyes but in CT. I mean he brought up the lore for Devil's Hopyard and Dudleytown, what gives? As far as I'm aware, there's no official camping nor hiking close by; the water you mention is a protected reservoir to my knowledge. The Blue Trail travels on one of the nearby ridges to the East of there, but it's on a separate ridge not connected to Downes iirc. You can catch it at Sleeping Giant on the East side of Whitney Ave, but then further north you can catch it on the West side at Roaring Brook Falls which is on the same ridge as Downes is nearby, so it crosses over at some point... but there's no trailheads or anything in the vicinity of the road. The narrator's giving Hamden a lot more of a favorable depiction than it deserves though, the outskirts are fine but the city center is a cesspool. Bethany is a really nice place though, accurate. From the entries on this list, I have personally been to Devil's Hopyard, Dudleytown, and Downes Road. I do not see anything more than legends at these particular locations.That being said, I have been to other haunted locations in the state where I am willing to say I encountered paranormal activity in full confidence. Take Undercliff Asylum/Sanitarium which I mentioned at the beginning, that shit was definitely haunted. It's long demolished now, but if you look it up online there's a story about a kid who was shanked to death by other kids in an outside courtyard. I 100% encountered that spirit on one of my visits, and I didn't even know about the story until I got home afterwards and did more research. The activity that happened lined up perfectly with the story that I read like an hour after it happened to me. If somebody wants to hear that story I'll share it, but it's probably longer than what I already wrote so far. Pretty good episode in a general sense, but as a CT native for almost 40 years it was a bit weak. Hopefully the followup video in the future covers some more substantial locations.

@cd5sircoupeАй бұрын
@@FrightNightScares No doubt, do you want my Undercliff stuff in a comment or submit to an email? I hope I didn't come across as too harsh, the episode just felt like the standard "tourist traps" so to speak, the famous ones on all those top ten lists or featured on cable tv shows. It only really scratches the surface of what we've got in the state, I was surprised it didn't cover the Asylum used for MTV's Scared Straight show. Hell, I found out about a new to me location earlier today, Seaside Sanitarium in Waterford. Either that or I completely forgot about it over time.

Im so surprised the Norwich State Hospital wasn't in here!! I grew up about Norwich and when I was a senior in high school (before they demolished half the buildings) and that place is no joke! My dad was a vol firefighter for Poquetanuck fire dept (Preston side) and he has said that place is not right and I remember every single day there would be fire alarm activations but no fires. Which is weird for that it to happen that much for no reason. And I mean every single day sometimes multiple times, I'd call it when his pager went off 😂. Very cool and interesting video!

One fun fact to add being a person from Connecticut I should know this of course I live in a town right next to our devil's hopyard is rather not say the name but there's another Castle in East haddem which kind of surprising that we have that many castles around here. but the castle in East haddam that I'm referring to the reason why it's kind of special is I'm sure you guys all know who Sherlock Holmes was? Well if you don't look them up but back in the day before there was any movies or anything like that then we did plays back in the early 1900s 1800s times. And the original guy that played Sherlock Holmes on stage some Mr Gillette guy I don't really know what his first name was but it was just Castle. So yeah he was a stage actor way back before there was TV and crap like that so much more of a big deal than it is nowadays.

Definitely a good area if you're someone that's in the history or even if you're one of those Ghost hunters.

Ah yes, you forgot Enfield, CT. I had an extreme situation whereas I was visited by demons. It was back in the 1950's when I was very young. I was in bed when I was awaken and beholden a circle of demons above my head, I pulled the blanket over my head and shouted for my parents. Time was at a unknown, but I finally got out of the bedroom only to find out there was no one in the house. I ran out to the next house where I found my parents and told my mother what happened. She could not believe what happened. A few months passed, and my family moved out and relocated to Middletown, CT. I have been haunted all my life from time to time from this event, as I was only 3 years old at the time, around 1955. Yes, CT does have spooks and effects the very young as well.😢😢😢😮😮

Little surprised y’all didn’t cover White Lady at Union Cemetery. I’ll give you one, take it or leave it. It happened! My friends and I carried over from our senior year high school summer, to spreading out over Connecticut for our first year of college. We all still got together almost every weekend to hang out and go ghost hunting. I was also romantically involved with one of the girls, if that gives you any context. We were together on the weekends when we weren’t at separate schools for the week. 5-6 of us met up and hopped in one car to go meet at White Lady. We parked at a modern church right down the road, and walked maybe a half mile down to the cemetery. We get in the cemetery, we’re doing our usual thing, walking around. We had done this all summer at the hot spots in CT, with no experience. My love interest at the time starts getting extremely disrespectful. “Fuck this white lady bitch.” This, and that, and literally starts spitting toward graves and shit. We’re chuckling… We’re there for about 20 minutes in the center of the graveyard, by one of the main trees, and what sounds like a cat in a fight, or a cat in heat, starts in. The sound is clearly at the back of the graveyard, probably 300+ yards away. It’s the graveyard end at the woods line. You can reference the distance by sound and seeing through the moonlight. We all hush up to listen. We all recognize it as the same thing. Probably a small animal in distress 300+ yards away. We all look at one another and chuckle. We’re there to witness paranormal activity, so we’re hyper alert and notice it’s an animal in distress far away… Not 2 seconds later, that distressed animal sound traveled the entire fucking cemetery in less than 3 seconds. It traveled toward us in a blink. You can hear that sound travel that whole way. As it got about 50 feet away from us, the sound got more prominent. By the time the sound was getting to us, it sounded like it was literally trying to make out words. The sound went from a screech, to someone standing directly in front of us, eye level, but no one standing there. It went, “Geee ouu. Geeeeed ouuuuuu. GET OUT!” It was directly in our faces, clear as fucking day, perfect pronunciation. We all turn and ran like we were running for our lives. There’s no question what took place and what happened. Call it bullshit if you will. It happened, and no one will tell me different. We encountered the paranormal. Ask me if I ever went back out ghost hunting after that. No, no I didn’t.
