Empire Earth Is A Perfectly Balanced RTS Game With No Exploits - Excluding Convert Only Challenge

Empire Earth is a classical RTS game from 2001. It was created to compete with the already successful age of empires series but with brand new 3D graphics. Low and behold whilst it did well it never really managed to reach the strategy game hall of fame in the same way age of empires 2 did. So today we ask the question if Empire Earth Is A Perfectly Balanced RTS Game With No Exploits. And to demonstrate this we will be using the convert / conversion only challenge in which we dont ever construct an army of our own and instead convert the enemy forces to our own side. Unlike age of empires 2 this game is already broken with many imbalances, cheesy strats and glitches all waiting to be messed about with by the spiffing brit in a wonderful funny moments highlight form.
What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold. My friend and I's parents had shitty laptops when we were 6 so we ended up getting Empire Earth and playing it for hours on end. I think the best settings to play on are gigantic map, do not reveal map and small/large islands map type. It basically becomes colonization simulator where you rush to take control of and fortify all the islands around you.

Vote A Used to play this game all the time, but didn’t have the expansions. No priesty towers. But what you can do is just use regular towers and spec into range. You can outrange their towers. Prophets are broken, just earthquake them to death.

I actually played this before AoE2. I found this more fun. The wonders are actually useful here and the scope is quite epic. Not to mention the campaigns. I once had a play through where I can build robots but still had a rock thrower alive🤣

EE1 was fantastic. EE2 was okay (the genetic or nano-age super troopers are neat I guess). EE3 was literally painful. Had all of them and played EE1 so much that a microcrack in the disk (I guess it was weakly pressed or something) made it explode. ;_; I actually made a Cyber Ninja character in Cyberpunk 2077 when I played it by using one of the goofy outfits that looked more or less like what the ninja wears lol.

I could be wrong about the universities though. So i just decided to test it, turns out i was right - universities protect against unit conversion, that includes conversion by priest towers. Lol, know that feeling. Over the years I have installed EE on many different computers and operating systems and it was pure random if it works. I think Windows 95 and XP were perfect, 7 had problems, 8 ran on one PC but not on my laptor for some reason, but after reinstalling the operating system it magically worked and on Windows 10 it works somewhat, but the graphics are broken.

Conversion towers are useful but when you are fighting 6 AI who are all tacitly cooperating against you the sheer number of enemies will quickly ovewhelm a conversion unit/bldg.

Friend of mine absolutely refuses to play it with me anymore, I think number 2. I had about 15 nuke bombers, evenly spaced, set to patrol in a circle around my base. It was an impenetrable no-man's land, until I built up a ton more nuke bombers and raided his entire base in one go.

I *loved* this game in middle school when it came out. I loved the sense of progress you could get from stone age to cyberpunk. Done right, it really feels like a sort of god game, advancing humanity. I also remember mods to make the limits ridiculous; like 24 players, 8x map sizes, 50x unit caps etc. So, it kinda felt like real-time civ 3. I still have the original box and manual. I LOVED this game. But havent played since like, 2005 or something. More vids on this gem please!!

I had the massive Gold Edition manual. Mannnnnnnn did I have to break into that thing before I could unlock my full potential in EE. I specifically remember this being the most complex game I played in early grade school lol

Oh, this is great to see some Empire Earth content! I miss the EE LANs of the old days! Though I must admit, I am a tad disappointed that you only did half of the exploit. Since the AI spies on you constantly, as soon as you complete a wonder, it sill try to destroy it instantly, sending ALL of its troops there from all over the map. Just pick a nice construction site, circle it with walls to draw a tower defence-like path to access it, then line these walls with priest towers. This will be majestic.

This and Pharaoh were my childhood lol. I remember having family-wide LAN parties and still play it every now and then for the nostalgia of it. My partner recently got me into starcraft and cause it plays so similarly I handily beat him for the first dozen or so rounds at least until he started researching actual strategies xD

Loved this game. And it has one of my most memorable MP games of all times. Dont remember the exact details but it was something like 6 players vs the AI, resources where cranked up and difficulty was cranked up. Two of the players died out quickly. and the rest of us ended up battling for hours and hours. The map was clogged up with walls and neither side was able to defeat the other.

Hey Spiff - there is an multiplayer community for EE still. can't say how many people are active, but the servers show up. It's called NeoEE and it's about the only running service some people think the installer is a tad sketchy and may have a trojan in it so be careful. Watching this was a rush of nostalgia to one of my early PC gaming experiences (Warcraft 2: Tides of darkness being my first PC game). I remember having the EE Gold edition that I got on sale for $15 at the local Big Lots with my allowance. The massive tech tree poster was amazing and if I still had it I would certainly have it on the wall above my computer still even though I haven't played in years. Also EE2 tends to have more community support like EE2 Unofficial patch 1.5 which fixes it for windows 8/8.1/10 and allows for more resolutions and makes EE2 better.
