Galactic Civlizations 3 is the latest game in the Gal Civ Series spanning many years now. It has become a legendary Sci - Fi Turn based game. A common comparision to make is to say it is Civ but in space. Today however we will be doing a playthrough of Galactic Civilizations 3 and deciding if it is A perfectly balanced game with no exploits or if everything is broken. Perhaps the unlimited money is broken. And as always you will join The Spiffing Brit on his journey to break and exploit games for your entertainment! With a healthy addition of British humour and tea to make you feel right at home. But oh my everything is broke.
What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold. @@Filthy69Weeb Well, building that first satellite uplink allows you to field 3 satellites, which allows you to grab the continent bonus of either Africa or North America, which is a pretty solid thing to have. The problem arises when you try to go to more continents. If you don't have the interceptors prepared for those continents, you will see a lot of UFOs you won't be able to shoot, followed rapidly by UFOs that will shoot down your satellites. Each satellite shot down also gives the aliens more research, so they can use your satellites to snowball their own research. TLDR; the first uplink is a good idea. After that... probably not.

you can pretty much break the science in gal civ 3 without expoiting a glitch in the game by taking ancient as one of your starting traits, this unlocks a nifty tech tree that makes your ships do all sorts of lovely things like cost no maintenance and repair themselves on their own without the need to install any mods onto them. but the thing that ancient does to break the science balance is for every relic of any type that you connect to a starbase you get +10% science to all your worlds, science relics give +10% for the relic itself and additional 10% for the ancient trait + ascention crystals add +1 raw science production, which is then boosted by all your % increases And just to make it extra spicy, every single upgrade to the relic point collection on your starbases adds another 10% science, or 1+ raw science from ascension cystals. In my current game ive got 0 research buildings but every single one of my planets is giving me over 100 science, im not up to the final age yet, but for the most expensive stuff i am able to research it takes 3 turns, everything else only takes 1 turn :D + in addition to the redicoulose science ive also got all them % boosts that naturally come with relics, ive got something like 100% to moral, 30% production, 60% economy 40% to influcence and from all the science from all the differant things something like +22 raw science and + 300% science for every world in addition to what the worlds naturally produce on their own. Also Thanks to the massive moral boost im also taxing my population at 90% and they are still all 100% happy except for 3 worlds that have yet to build their entertainment buildings. This money is being poured into starbase defenses so i never lose my juicy bonuses, whilst im mass producing a royal navy that is centuries ahead of everyone else and will go forth and colonise the alien civilizations in order to force them to buy tea from me :D

I know this is late but every time Queenie and Phil pop up I am reminded of the 6th Dune book with the old British couple as a pair of omniscient beings on the level of a god. They were some kind of mysterious new entity in the universe and a super massive yet looming threat. But all they were ever depicted as were an old British farming couple. Man that series got weird.

I am owning GalCiv 3 probably longer than anyone else because I backed it only a few hours after its development was announced and became available for backing (this also means I've been receiving every DLC for free since then) but I must admit it that I really haven't encountered these exploits despite the game being plagued with some weird bugs. I know GalCiv2 had tons of exploits and they were somewhat part of the mechanic, or so it felt, actually expected from you to use them in order to be able to compete on Metaverse.

Captain here: The reason why it says 2 turns, but it researches in 1 is because you have some research left over from the previous tech. I think it gets stockpiled to some ammount, but im not sure if indefinetly.

Hello everyone. That trick works every time and not only during turn shift. Some people reported having problems so here is a small and simple guide. You can add up to 2000% research, 680% raw production 2000% bonus production, etc. after that, it's kinda capped. First download cheat engine. Set speed hack for 0.01 speed and hit apply. Now open some sort of autoclicker( I recommend fastclicker) and run it as administrator. Now switch back to the game, select a starbase and hit the key that spams your mouse clicks just like the Spiffing Brit did it in the video. That's all. It can be done on fast pc, on turn 1, no need for cpu trashing. You are welcome.

My game had some minor lag when I tried this duplicating technique and I ended up with 256 star base upgrades instead of ~20. Jokes on you now I'm making -234 gold per turn. Apparently *256 is the code limit* as I can't build any more. But game gets hilarious when you sit at +6400% culture from single starbase, +5000% gold and can construct huge ship in one turn.
