I'm new to your channel having started watching about a month ago. I greatly appreciate the work you do, and am impressed with the quality of the production. However, there does seem to be one thing missing. It would be great to see a full leaderboard view. I'm left with no idea how many people are even in the tournament. Nor do I have any idea how the scores of the leaders compare with middle or bottom end players. It all just seems to be missing an important bit of context.

I love all the coverage options (Jomez, CCDG, SpinTV, etc). I am enjoying this particular coverage for a number of reasons: overall professionalism of the production, Ken Climo as a commentator, watching the "new" (more relaxed) Nico and the course designer spotlights to name a few. Thanks!

Do we need course design commentary each round? I think 1st round would have been enough. Not that much to brag about to be honest. Otherwise, great coverage. Also love The Champ on commentary!
@jeffwells6415 жыл бұрын
It looks like they are doing every hole on the course, spread out over 3 rounds - i.e 3 holes per 9. So you're getting in round 3 the holes they didn't cover in rounds 1 and 2. It's kind of interesting, but also kind of annoying when you're into the round to have to wait for something unrelated to the current drama like that.

They're talking about growing the sport, yet they make half of the course almost unwatchable by placing the OB arbitrarily around the lawn and taking away the ropes signalling where the line goes. Every tee shot on holes 9-12 I have to wait for the graphics to tell if it's inbounds or not. Even Lake Eureka has it better.
@samahsara99635 жыл бұрын
Couldn't have said it better
@stevetreehots35835 жыл бұрын
I prefer the stakes. Not sure why you instantly need to know if the disc is ob. You didn't throw it, just relax and wait the few seconds it takes for the graphic to come up. The ropes look cheap.
@canadianmagic84025 жыл бұрын
What the hell does that have to do with growing the sport lmao. This is a top three course on tour.
@samahsara99635 жыл бұрын
@@canadianmagic8402 growing in terms of viewership not participation. As a viewer I want to see the course seperation, in regular golf it's the difference between short and long grass. In disc golf the pegs feel cheap. Just my opinion tho and I'm far from a expert, just an average joe.
@stevetreehots35835 жыл бұрын
@@samahsara9963 every golf course around the world uses stakes. They are the same, they aren't pegs. I have never heard someone complain that they look cheap. The long grass doesn't ever define a hazard or ob. No one will not watch disc golf because they use the same thing the PGA and Augusta National use to define hazards.

@ChrisWoj5 жыл бұрын
I would not say that Nikko has "always had the forehand." I played with him in Goshen, Indiana about 10 years ago - Turkey Shootout - and he had virtually no forehand. I didn't see him try any short approach ones, don't know if he had that but he was throwing absolutely nutty little truncated backhand rollers on rough ground adding tons of margin for error on some of the easiest forehand holes. This isn't to say it didn't work for him - looks like he averaged 1045 that day - but he was adding a TON of ground interference potential on very easy holes to avoid trying a forehand. If he had any forehand at all I don't think I would have seen him putting it on the ground in those woods.
@konroh25 жыл бұрын
He's preferred the backhand, but it's good to see him using the forehand when that is the best shot shot for the course. This course obviously favors LH/forehand.
@ChrisWoj5 жыл бұрын
@@konroh2 I agree completely - he's totally to be commended for developing the forehand over the years! He's slowly brought it along these past few years, as far as I can tell (I really only started watching coverage regularly 2-3 years ago). As for the course - I agree. This year they doubled down on a flaw I've always seen in the Winthrop Gold design - the holes designed to "entice" players into making mistakes just aren't enticing at all to lefties, the whole mental game that hits the righties isn't as prominent for them. Guys like Chris and Nate can really punch above their weight using a strong forehand and not worrying about the risk shots that the big righty backhand guys can reach for.
@konroh25 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisWoj Yes, this is Chris's to lose in my opinion. But we'll see.
@ChrisWoj5 жыл бұрын
@@konroh2 I thought that until I finished watching this round!
@konroh25 жыл бұрын
@@ChrisWoj Yeah, I first said it before I finished. But Conrad and Eagle might cancel each other out with going for it, don't know enough about Tamm, Queen will get local jitters, Nikko won't shoot another albatross, Dickerson's a righty, and Clemons will sneak in there. At least that's how I'm justifying my scandalous prediction. ;-)

Thanks SpinTV. The Duvall's are hilarious; why are you showing them? Why are you allowing them on the video? At 6:46, he's calling one of the ugliest greens in disc golf "one of the most beautiful greens in disc golf." When in fact, it's an ugly horseshoe-shaped downslope surrounded by not very spectacular cypress trees, and it has no view of anything. 100% lame.
