Peter Lawford and Richard Boone sure were young here, along with the always good looking Maureen O'Hara. There aren't that many movies set and filmed in Australia; a unique continent. And the Aborigine race is just as unique.

too true, but we all one race. color is mostly skin deep and hair shape, some immune system variation, lactose tolerance varies. @@JamesSimmons-d1t Hi...I agree with your sentiment about all being one race: the Human race...Homo Sapiens. But the word 'race' is also used to describe the distinctions within the Human race: Black race, White race, Asian race, Hispanic race, Innuit race ( Eskimos ), Native American Indian race, the Aboriginal race, etc. But what I find very interesting is this: If we all came from just one original race, Homo Sapiens, then what accounts for all of the obvious diverse skin colors and facial shapes? Was it just environmental? And if it was just environmental, then why are we not still evolving and changing within each Race?

I don’t know who Bud Tingwell or Chips Rafferty are!?! I’ll have to Google that.!!! Yes, I love the part with the aborigines, dancing, etc.!!!! Also love seeing the kookaburra bird and the kangaroos!!! (🦘 I got to live on the island of Palm Beach Florida as a kid, and we had a family who lived right across from us who owned a kangaroo, named Joey!!!! ) They even filmed a Komodo dragon at the beginning, but I looked it up!! There are no Komodo dragons in Australia… they are on an island/islands, part of Indonesia. Evidently they had been there so many thousands of years ago in Australia. I loved Peter Lawford in this!! I didn’t know it was him, but I could’ve sworn by the voice it was him, and it was!!! I loved his voice! This movie came out when I was four years old!! Also love Richard Boone!!!!! Very good acting and great action picture!!!! Love the whole thing with the drought and cattle, etc… great old movie!!!! Thank you very much!! Have you found the gospel of Jesus Christ yet?!? @@gaymichaelis7581 The lizard is a goanna which is very common in the outback but much smaller than a Komodo and not at all dangerous. Tingwell was a genuine war hero but is propably best known to Americans as the president of the court marshal in "Breaker Morant". Rafferty was really the only Australian actor known outside the country and was recognisably Australian (unlike Errol Flynn). he was sort of a vernuncular Aussie John Wayne.

All I knew about Australia was that people migrated there from England because of cheap fares of10 pounds and convist were taken to Australia and that the king of England lived there and it was hot dry and beauiful great actors I remember Peter Lawford and Richard Boone and Maureen ohara

The last penal colony ship arrived in Australia in 1868 leg iron marks would have been relatively common among people just a few years before the setting of this movie. A 40 year old person could have had those marks from his transport to Australia in 1888. In my estatsmation turn of the century could easily be 15 years before 1899 to 15 years after . Do we have an official time period called the turn of the century. If could be only two seconds long to a few decades.?
