You never heard of KMFDM, Ministry, Fear Factory, 16 Volt, Hate Dept or Nine Inch Nails? There are plenty of bands out there with a similar sound. Personally I like techno, acid, drum and bass and experimental electronic music... But this type of metal I’m ok with...

Javier Mendoza Nin was one of the first bands I was ever introduced to. I then got into some numetal bands but because nin was such a strong influence I started getting into ministry and skinny puppy. Eventually I got into rhythmic noise and more abstract electronic music. Metal was just so popularized that most of my friends listen to it... my friends hated the darker and more electronic music I listened to. But static x has some decent electronic elements.

It's the name of a city in Southwest Michigan. As the story was told to me, one of the members of Static X went to a college in the area and found the town so depressing that he wrote a song about it. Multiple songs about it.
