My friends and I built a tiny camper that can be pulled by an e-bike and I took it out camping. The total build weighs approximately 160 pounds and I pulled it with an off the shelf 250 watt bike. Many improvements to come but this was a first test camping trip for it.

Even tho we are all different, we are more the same then we care to think. A guy on the ground with a little bit of food and drink in some crazy locations all vulnerable, and it makes him happy. It warms my heart to see people appreciate just being alive like he does, humble and yet so inspiring, funny and yet so mentally strong. ONE IN A MILLION guy. I am thinking the space behind you when you were sitting down in the camping chair, the original mount point, that could be the "kitchen" or sink anyway and oven toaster. Then stick a little projector somewhere and have a pull down screen in the middle of where you tucked back the bed. So when you want to watch a movie, you sit comfy with your back to the sink and watch stuff while you eat / have a step two. The projector doesnt even need to be in front of the screen, most projectors can be set to rear projection, which means depending on the screen you could have the tiniest of shelves at the far end of the cabin near the frosted window and run it from there. You can get tiny projectors now these days, not all of them great but, I mean, for what you need it for. Glad to see you back man! This thing looks great

I’m actually pretty excited for the content to come from this new trailer . Once you got inside my mind went wild with ideas. Your folding out bed would be a must on the opposite wall from the door. You could do something similar with a chair (tbh your fold out seems fine) . Cooking is what I was really wondering about but that could all be done outside …unless we get some cold weather content at the end of the year 🤔 Steve I love ya man I’ve watched your stuff for years and your content helps me get to sleep most nights and I’m very thankful for that. You’ve also gotten me back into camping and the outdoors and I can’t thank you enough. Best of wishes man and be safe out there this year…gaaa I can taste that popcorn lol

This man is a treasure. He could mope and complain, but he just keeps it movin with grace. Truly, he is an inspiration. We've all lost, we've all suffered and sometimes, continuing gets hard...but Steve is a reminder that it'll be alright. Sometimes you need time, but eventually, we must return to forward motion.

Steve use 1 1/2" rigid foam for the inside walls. That should flush up with the framing and then staple cloth onto the walls for a finish. Clean finish for the inside and very well insulated to boot. Edit: Put a small towel bar above your screen window and drape a towel as a blind. Towels have a myriad of uses in a camper. Also remember to distribute the load in the trailer equally, important in a lightweight trailer configuration

If you put a 2x4 cross tie between the studs, and add a 6 inch strip of masonite just above the tie, you have a narrow pantry shelf for catsup, syrup, spices... and maybe make one deep enough for canned goods? Cereal box? A slot for a frying pan? A wire grill for the camp fire? Ziplock bags with chips, rice, coffee?
@phydeux
@phydeux 8 ай бұрын
A couple suggestions if you're open to them Steve. The "fifth-wheel" hole would be a great place to mount a small 12V ventilation fan. For the wiring I'd drill through the studs so that A) you don't have to wrap the wire around the stud, and B) they'll be held in place without extra hardware. A 3-4mm hole should be fine. And the "crusty hatch" would actually be a great spot to mount the Jackery behind. Then you'd have easy exterior access to power while protecting the Jackery from the elements. And you could hook the lights to it using a simple 12 adapter/controller module. For the window I'd recommend the vinyl wrap material they use on public transit buses over the windows. It has holes so you can see out, but they're small enough that people can't see in without being right up against the window. And no need for curtains getting in your way. A quick Amazon search turned up "VViViD" wrap sheets for $10-12USD. One would be more than enough. But I have to say I fell out laughing when I saw you pull a popcorn machine out. LAST thing I would have expected to see.

Maybe a small sink basin for that hole in the overhang, and a small battery pump to a 5 gal(19 liter) jug? Maybe some foam insulation panels with wallpaper over those for the walls. An iPad or whatever for movies with a magnetic mount someplace… maybe add a deepcycle battery(they just seem to last longer for solar and charging) with an inverter to store some energy for charging stuff and powering lights at night? Consider wiring for DC instead of AC like a boat does. Maritime parts can be found cheap for power options and less risky wiring. I think you have a fantastic start already, has a ton of potential. Looks like fun.

I’m actually pretty excited for the content to come from this new trailer . Once you got inside my mind went wild with ideas. Your folding out bed would be a must on the opposite wall from the door. You could do something similar with a chair (tbh your fold out seems fine) . You’ll end up wanting something to hang clothes on to keep that in mind .

I’d suggest just spray painting the frame inside. It’s a good place to mount stuff. Run your wires in the corners. They’ll tuck in nicely. I can’t imagine the wheel bearings lasting very long. You might need an upgrade someday Solar seems like a great addition for future use. And maybe a flashing strobe light in the back while traveling. That’s a nice project Steve. Steve Sir: Just a suggestion , the bicycle is fine I’m sure it’s great, but if you might want to upgrade a little bit, go with electric trike , it has a basket for extra batteries or supplies for as you travel and it can make a 5th wheel hookup and not hinder your travel. A couple solar panels on top of the hunker down charge controller to charge for the trike .
