I'm also so glad that you appreciate Janick! There are those who thinks he's the one man to many in the band, while I for my part think it should be obvious to anyone what an asset he is. The controversy comes from Janick originally joining the band as Adrian's replacement (long story). Bruce was the one who brought Janick in, Janick having played on Bruce's first solo album. (Bruce has in all released seven solo albums, most recently "The mandrake project" this spring, that went straight to #1 here in Sweden and other European countries - but I digress.) In 1999, Adrian was returning to Iron Maiden, alongside Bruce, and Janick, being an extremely humble and forthcoming guy, volunteered to step down so that Iron Maiden could reunite their classic 80s lineup. To which Nicko, always the temperamental one, immediately replied: "You're not going anywhere, mate!" And Steve, whose decision it of course ultimately was, agreed. He decided that Janick and Adrian would both be part of the lineup from then on, making Iron Maiden, in Steve's words, "the Lynyrd Skynyrd of heavy metal", with a triple guitar lineup. And, as you have seen, this is exactly what they have been ever since. Janick, coincidentally, has an impressive pedigree. Before teaming up with Bruce and Iron Maiden, he played in the (very good) band Gillan, fronted by a certified living legend. Namely Ian Gillan, who used to be and for many years is once more the singer of one of THE defining, most influential heavy rock bands in history. Namely Deep Purple. Who are also currently enjoying massive success, with their new album "= 1" (pronounced "Equals one") , released just a couple of weeks ago, going to #1 in the charts in, among other places, here in Sweden and to the Top 10 all over Europe. But again, I digress.

I quite like the studio version with Blaze as well as many other tracks like Man on the Edge, Lord of the Flies and Sign of the Cross but the vocal power and energy Bruce brings to them is just immense. Particularly Sign of the Cross from this show and Lord of the Flies from the Dance of Death tour.

From this show Like stated before. The sign off the Cross. Then Dream off mirrors. This show Is and was epic. well over 250.000 people were at this show. It was the end off the Brave new world tour. Recorded at Rock in rio. The brave new world album recorded in 2000. Marked the return off Guitarist Adrian Smith (left in early 1990) And Bruce dickinson on vocals (Left in 1993) The band did dont want Janick gers to leave the band the person who replaced Adrian Smith. This was the first Live album with Maiden having 3 Guitar players. ( Dubbed the 3 amigos by fans) Iff you see closely you sometimes think its raining or theres a fog above the crowds head. Thats actually sand flying high up due to the fans bein so passionate and due to that Jumping up and down causing the sand to get lifted that high up.

Isn't this the best notification ☺👍💯 That was a high jump from Bruce, and how Bruce just moves his arms without saying anything and the crowd starts singing 😆he's a great frontman. This song was written by Steve Harris inspired by the movie Braveheart, Scotland independence from England. The members of Iron Maiden laughed when people labeled them as Satanists, they are the opposite. Their music people would say it's more political and inspiration from their experiences. Maybe also because the first thing people see is Eddie on the covers of the bands albums, so they assume it's evil. Eddie started as a papier-mâché mask made by a student that they had on stage, then later all the artwork was designed by a self taught artist. Eddie represents the theme of each album cover and concert, you can see the backdrop here of Eddie as a Scottish clan. I enjoy all Iron Maidens songs and live shows 💖 thank you for the reaction and for replying to us, we appreciate you.

This one's a little special. The original studio version, released in 1998, was recorded with another singer, Blaze Bayley (nowadays a renowned solo artist). You see, when the "alternative" rock wave broke through in the early 90s, Bruce came to believe that there was no more future for heavy metal as we know it and left Iron Maiden in 1993. Bruce later came to realise the error of his ways (traditional heavy metal had a colossal and still ongoing resurgence most notably in Europe from 1997) and he returned to the band in 1999. In the interim, Iron Maiden had released two albums with Bayley on vocals, and from those albums, three songs in particular have remained live favorites even after Bruce's return to the band. The three songs are "Man on the edge" - a pretty successful single at the time - the epic "Sign of the cross", and "The clansman": the latter inspired by the movie "Braveheart" that had been a huge box office success three years prior. As so many times before, the song is penned by the ever-creative Steve Harris.
