I think there is a tutorial online somewhere on youtube. Someone did a Gaige cosplay and everyone thought her hair was CGI. But it was actually real. I suggest u look it up and learn from it then apply it to your gundams. Might ger the same effects as this guy.

Somehow cell shading painting works very well. Even if I'm not a fan of it. It's not realistic, but works ( I can't explain this properly ). Everybody went for realism but, since nobody ever seen a working mobile suit's weathering effects, we just assume it looks like a tank or fighter plane. It's not new, but have not seen it on gunpla before. Kudos!
