@@ashcosmo3854 as someone who does singing, man... Just try to pull the stuff he pulls. I'm pretty proud of how much I can control my voice, but man, trying to keep up with Parker is harder than trying to keep up with Brendan Murphy from Counterparts sometimes. The new stuff especially, I've tried to keep up with Parker on All This Time as practice here and man... The dude is one of those greats, he has expanded his range so much, not even going to mention White Shores which is also another amazing example of that. One of the greatest pop-punk frontmans of all time, up there with Soupy and a lot of other artists we were privileged as f to get to see rise and shine. And don't forget how NP is helping Parker pull the HC scene together by making pop punk just "hardcore kids playing blink" again. Best kind of pop-punk imo - The fact that they only bring HC bands with them (Regulate, Raw Brigade for example) and play in HC festivals shows you just how much they're respected.

I see people complaining about Parker not moving around on stage as much as he used to... He's clearly more focused on vocal quality, and you definitely can hear the difference. These sets sound so much better nowadays. Unfortunately, with his type of singing, you can't have both. I know personally I couldn't jump around and yell his lyrics without them sounding like shit.

God I remember back in 2013 when I first heard these guys. Was in a pop rock band in Columbia SC and my buddy, and lead guitarist put on them on the jukebox at some dive bar we were at. Immediately I felt the music and turned around and asked who this was. From there on I’ve loved everything these guys have put out. They get better with each album. Hard to believe how fast time goes. Pop punk days were the best days.

Same, bro. One random day I was listening and watching some good ol Sum 41 and Quicksand started playing after one of the songs. From that point on... Never ever stopped, whenver I think I'm growing out of it, a new album comes out and changes everything. Proper Dose saved my life in 2018 and IWTD is helping me deal with the loss a friend who was 100% a brother to me. Their art is just so fucking beautiful, and has the ability to reach the deepest parts of my being and soul. Will always carry this band on my heart until I die. And then some, because I got a lot of people hooked on it as well.

These guys though, no matter how many years, no matter how much they change their sound, never missed. Even their side projects: Snarl (dead nowadays), Elder Brother, Same Side, No Pressure, Coldmoon, Pile of Love.... Probably forgetting some. Hell, even the people around them are awesome. Morgan/Mobins Child is an amazing singer and plays beautifully as well. Zach Cannon kills at mixes, Daniel Flashes sings amazingly at Elder Brother and is always around them as well. I don't think I even need to talk about Nik fom Man Overboard (and Gradwell House) I don't know, just a lot of love for these dudes and all that their art/work has done for/to me.

also, just as a note: I miss when I thought pop punk was cool/amazing and I didn't understand why bands (like TSSF) didn't want to be "categorized" into it. Those were the days. @@LoneWanderer905 Absolutely. They definitely separated from the pack. Hard to believe, now being in my 30s that these guys have been around for a while. This newest album just hits me in a different way. It’s like they wrote this album as if their fans were sitting with them in the studio. Considering how much chaos and nihilistic crap there is in the world I go to a different place when I listen to this sound. They’re not afraid to let the core elements (drums, guitars, bass) do the talking, while Parker is having a clairvoyant moment. It’s a lot like when I was a teenager, and NFG, The Starting Line, Sum 41, Blink, and a litany of others that were newer to the scene and their albums were the few things I ever felt an incredible need to listen to. I miss the days where I could hang with my bros, and not have much to worry about, besides getting the provisions for fun weekends partying, jamming out and enjoying the moment without the need to TikTok it.

Yo were we at the same show?? The sound was awful, the speakers kept going out, and the crowd was mid af. Saw 3 of my longtime favorite bands (first time seeing ADTR after 15 years) but was the worst venue for them imo
@benseman08
@benseman08 6 ай бұрын
@@laxislife11 I mean yeah, it's called "the wind" my guy, it'll do that to sound outside... Not sure what crowd you were in, but seemed to me everyone there was pretty into it. Hard to mosh and circle pit when its all seats and no open floor. I've seen them play other places, and it seemed like they slowed down their songs, but this time they were all uptempo and they were full of energy.
@laxislife11
@laxislife11 6 ай бұрын
@@benseman08 the wind was like 3-5mph, not significant to affect sound. That was the second show I've been to at red rocks and was disappointed both times. I think it was a combo of the mix being way too bass heavy (eating the mid and high tones) and like a volume limiter so you couldn't hear the vocals or lead guitar. It was sooo muddy. I was smack dab in the middle of row 38/39 so shoulda been the sweet spot imo. Folks were pretty quiet and not really moving much all night minus a few ADTR songs. The bands all crushed it - especially FYS - but it woulda been better at any other big amphitheater. Bet they coulda filled fiddlers pretty good
@benseman08
@benseman08 6 ай бұрын
@@laxislife11 I guess just don’t go to red rocks shows anymore if you’ve been disappointed both times? My buddy who’s seen lots of shows there didn’t have a huge problem with the sound, and he’s been there other times where the wind absolutely muted the whole show cause of how gusty it was. My group had a blast and thought all of it was a great time. That was my first show ever at RR, and I thought it was a great experience. Not sure what else to tell you
